Jaycees/Comcast Political Forum

March 31, 2005 on 11:09 am | In Information, News |

I thought that this was important enough to have it’s own article. The Jaycees/Comcast political forum was held Tuesday night with six of the seven mayoral candidates debating about the issues in Hattiesburg. These debates will be aired on Comcast Channel 11 on the following dates:

April 5th 8:00 PM

April 13th 6:30 PM

April 19th 8:00 PM

April 27th 6:30 PM

Plenty of chances to watch it for yourself, and decide before voting. I’d like to personally thank the Jaycees and Comcast for putting this together. I don’t expect anyone to make up their mind just from watching a debate, but it helps to give everyone a more complete view of the candidates for Hattiesburg mayor.

  1. I have left the City of Hattiesburg and am now living in another state, but I love Hattiesburg and still consider it my home. I have recently been told of this site and am interested by the comments made regarding the mayorial elections. One, Ed Morgan did a lot for the City of Hattiesburg. The train depot and other projects were put into motion because of him. During his administration, Hattiesburg had a reputation of being a great place to live, a safe place. During his administration the police and fire departments were strong and well run. I personnally know Betsy Rowell and think that she would be an excellent candidate for the position of mayor. One she stands by what she believes in and does what she says. She only has the best interest of the city in mind. Wouldn’t that be a refreshing change.

  3. former employee of the City of Hattiesburg, you obviously don’t know Betsy Rowell. The last thing Hattiesburg needs is dishonest public officials, who violate the law for personal motives.
