Due to the amount of visits we are getting everyday, and limitations with the server, I’m closing the comments for the “Who will be the next mayor” blog. Several users have contacted me about errors on that particular blog and the long time it takes for their computer to download 441 comments. You can still make comments on all other blogs, but I don’t think this software was meant to handle that many comments. Thanks for your continued visits and making this site a success. I will continue to make it free of advertising and as user-friendly as possible. Our forums can handle 400 comments, or even 2000 comments, since it breaks it up into pages, but a blog was meant for “lite” discussion.

I would like to again encourage all visitors to register/post comments at our forums. I have setup a forum that guests can make comments in case you have registration problems. As others have said, if your concerned about anonymity, you can register a hotmail or yahoo mail address free. Your email or personal information will of course never be given out to anyone.

aaron, could you just delete all previous 441 comments, and continue with the old heading. there may be some folks that won`t go to the other sites.

I would rather not delete comments that some people took a long time to post. They will continue to be there for everyone to ready, but I have other topics on the mayoral race. There will be a new blog after the May 3rd primary where we’ll be able to discuss the candidates and the June 7th election. I think that is when it will get really exciting.

Well they don’t have to come to the forums. But they are just hurting their whole arguement plee in general. we are getting many new additions each day to our forums and they are beginning to post more and more. If everyone thinks this is the only place to read about the mayor’s election, they are dead wrong.

It’s very easy to post and a more user friendly. You can even post Pictures.

nothing happened really, it’s just that everyone was making all their comments on that one thread. It was overloading the page.

are you getting another thread..lol, the election is coming soon and this was where i got almost all my information..i mean i weeded through the crap, and got a lot out of the rest…cant you fix it..

forwhatitsworth, you realize there are other threads about the mayoral race right? There hasn’t been a dropoff of the amount of people that come here at all. In fact, it’s increasing everyday.

yeah, the forums are much more readable than the blog. Eventhough I like the blog setup, because it’s a little more simple than the forum. If you don’t visit the forum everyday, it can get confusing with all the topics that are there.

If you go to the blog homepage (by clicking blog above in the green bar) you can see several different stories with comments. Also, our forums averages about 20-30 comments per day now.

aaron, come over here, is your software not up to date. 20-30 comments per day? holy cow, u might wanna reboot your commodore64, or your apple II+, seriously, don’t become irrelevant by shutting down controversial blogs, 1st amendment and all that, let people spew forth their anguish, careful on the space walk.

I don’t think anyone here understands. I didn’t shut down the comments because of it’s controversy. I shut it down because the software we use couldn’t handle that many comments. This blog is not made for discussion. It can handle about 100 comments at most. At 400, it starts breaking down. Use the forums for heavy discussion, and the blog for a comment or two on the blog topic.
