A better yellow jacket trap?
May 23, 2006 on 4:41 pm | In Information, Uncategorized | No CommentsSummer in South Mississippi to most people means outdoor picnics and camping. In a lot of situations, you have to deal with yellow jackets around your food. This can be highly dangerous to anyone that is allergic to them and painful for everyone else. This blog tells you how to build a do-it-yourself yellow jacket trap to not only distract them away from your camp site, but also kill them in the process.
City of Oak Grove?
May 23, 2006 on 12:01 am | In Information, News | No CommentsJust posting a note that the final meeting scheduled for the incorporation of Oak Grove will be tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Oak Grove High School. Many believe that this will be the last chance of Oak Grove incorporation before Hattiesburg annexes it’s tax-income base completely. If you live in the area, just stopping by to listen to what the organizers have to say wouldn’t be a bad idea. For a lot more discussion on the subject, you can check out the forum thread, City of Oak Grove?
Trouble organizing your finances?
May 22, 2006 on 8:41 pm | In Information, Internet, Other Sites | No CommentsBrowsing around today, I found an interesting blog at SuccessMinders. They have available for download a printable sheet that you can track your finances on. Folded up, it’s no bigger than a credit card, but you can track several areas of your financial information on the page. It’s available for free download on site and worth a look if you are looking for a new way organize your financial information in a portable system.

Use Microsoft’s free tools to get rid of spam
May 16, 2006 on 9:28 pm | In Information, Internet, Other Sites | No CommentsMicrosoft has been working hard to help you in your fight to remove and keep viruses and malicious software from your computer. Microsoft Defender has been improved and is now in beta 2 status. I downloaded and tested both of these programs tonight and they seem very easy to use.
Microsoft® Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool
You may have to jump through a few hoops to validate your Windows installation, but after that, it should be smooth sailing using both programs. They download updates automatically, and can be ran in the background as you do other things.

I hope they improve your experience or make your life a little easier.

Site is down
February 27, 2006 on 1:39 pm | In Information | No CommentsAt this point, I still do not know what happened with the site. This is the only section I have been able to get back working at this time so I’m making a post just to update everyone on what is going on. I don’t know if we were hacked or if this is a server problem. I’m still working on it, but as you can tell, most of my efforts have failed with the exception of the blog section. Hopefully I will figure something out today.
Site update
November 3, 2005 on 12:54 am | In Information | 16 CommentsI apologize for the news portion of the site being blank. I am working on that problem and hope to have it fixed by the end of the day. There were several new features added to our forums though. You can read about all the different options available by clicking the link below.
One of the major additions is that now all forum members can have their own blog called a journal. Members can also post quizzes for other members to take. Thanks for continuing to visit, and we will continue to try to make this the best site in Hattiesburg.
