New Blog system

I am testing a new blog system that we are probably going to move to. Too tired to test and post instructions on how to use tonight, so I'll catch everyone up tomorrow.

I got one installed and was in the process of installing the other last night when I got really sick. I've just emerged from the couch and checking it again now.

It's cool, helps keep my mind off of everything else by concentrating on this. If I have to set these blogs up on a new domain, would you prefer ThinkHattiesburg.com or OurHattiesburg.com?

I think OurHattiesburg would be a cool name for a Blogging portal. I smell a new MyHattiesburg poll.

I think "OurHattiesburg" pairs much better with "MyHattiesburg" than "ThinkHattiesburg" does. Then we could have YourHattiesburg and Their Hattiesburg for future development... just a thought.

How do we get that to show up next to our names?

There's a new field to fill in, in your profile. Just put the link to your RSS feed in there (http://yourusername.ourhattiesburg.com/feed/). Lyla has a 1 in that field because of a previous mod, so the program just thinks she has a blog.

what is RSS feed? im a little new at this

Basically, it's an internet language. It was created so when one internet program wanted to export information to another, they would have a standard way of talking to each other. A lot of personalized home pages such as Yahoo, Google, MSN, and others use RSS to bring you your daily news items, weather, etc.
