A channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany, as part of the unification project was recently completed.  Really a marvel of engineering.

From the looks of picture, I'd say boat traffic. Looks like they need a waterway to move people and materials across there.

Don't we already have water over bridges? They're called tunnels, aren't they?

I don't think that water actually moves over concrete and in this case, even over another river.

It reminds me of DisneyWorld, right by the Magic Kingdom. They have an area where they built a water bridge, but it goes over a road.
