I'm not sure how to title the question, hence the name.

Anyhow, here's the question: When I hit the New Posts button, sometimes it lists posts/threads that I've already read the post on, but it says the post is new... AND just now, it said I posted today at 9:22am in a thread when I was clearly outside mowing my grass and everyone else is asleep. Why does it say that I made that post using the new posts button, but the actual post was made yesterday at 9:18, etc. Sometimes it happens to other people also.

I believe it only occurs on posts that contain polls..For example your the last poster on the Click It thread. If someone goes to that thread and votes but makes no post it will refresh the post as showing NEW. I don't really understand it, thats just what my detective skills have shown me. I'm sure aaron could answer your question with more certainty and clarity.

that makes sense... I'll have to pay closer attention and see if it's just on the polling question. Good detective skills. :)

Yeah, I've got it set somewhere in the admin that new votes bump the polls.
