They have moved back in and the trailer should be moved within the next day or so. I heard that it will be moved to fire station #2 on Fairchild while repairs are being made there.

When I went walking at the track tonight, the trailer was gone so they must be back in city hall after the mayor did all the repairs and stuff.

I took my son to the playground this morning and they were taking the trailer apart. You have to give Mayor Scott credit for not being afraid of work. I see him outside constantly directing workers and helping with the pouring of cement and digging ditches with a backhoe. Do you think Mayor DuPree would get his hands dirty? Oh, poor choice of words on my part.

I can give credit where credit is due and I think it's great that Mayor Scott doesn't mind getting his hands dirty but would someone please tell Mayor Scott to please learn how to dress appropriately when he's not out getting his hands dirty? A t-shirt with holes in it and blue jeans is not something a Mayor should be wearing when meeting with prominent businessmen and/or conducting city business and he does this quite frequently. And when you have guests from another city or state in town (concerning business) and you offer to take them to lunch, that normally means you are supposed to foot the bill.

are u serious, reality? :) i don't know the Mayor that well, but from my few dealings with him and what i've learned from others, he isn't much of a "people-person". he seems to be a great businessman, extremely smart, with a lot of drive and "get-it-done" attitude, and as u say, he doesn't mind helping just as much, or more, than anyone else when it's something he thinks should be done! i have been told that he hates being mayor -- absolutely Hates it -- and that he doesn't intend on running again so he doesn't try to make friends and doesn't try to be pretentious or sugar-coat anything. once u realize where his intentions really are as far as getting things done and moving petal toward something better, then u realize that the "socializing" end of it can be overlooked! i didn't think he took it as far as some of the examples u cited though! come on, mayor, clean up just a little for others coming to visit the city, and splurge every once in a while and foot the bill for those coming to visit. of course, we don't have any fancy restaurants in petal yet, so u wouldn't have to worry about getting dressed up -- just forget the holes in the shirt and maybe comb ur hair! :smt003 (shaving a little might not hurt either!) :smt102
