Starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci. Rated PG-13.

"The Devil Wears Prada" is based on Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel of the same name.

Meryl Streep plays Miranda Priestley, the editor of Runway, a magazine not unlike Vogue. Anne Hathaway portrays Andrea Sachs, a recent journalism school graduate, who has been hired to serve as Ms. Priestley's second assistant.

Ms. Priestley is the Boss from Hell, and Ms. Sachs is naive to the world of fashion.

This film has a "Sex and the City" feel to it, because the director, David Frankel, directed a number of SATC episodes, and the film's fashions, which are so spectacular they should qualify as a supporting character, were coordinated by Patricia Field, the mastermind of the Carrie Bradshaw "look" for SATC.

The film features several cameos... including supermodels and an internationally renowned fashion designer.

A good, entertaining chick-flick. That's all.

I think this film deserves the genre of super-chick-flick.

Kitty, is it worth watching at the movie or waiting until it's out on rental? I thought about seeing it.

I thought it was worth seeing at the theater. There's been a good bit of hype surrounding the film... over $1 million in clothes, whether it's based on the real innerworkings at Vogue magazine, etc.

My daughter and I went on opening day last Friday to a matinee showing at The Grand and it was pretty crowded.

If you are home tomorrow morning (July 4) you may want to catch 'The View' on ABC at 10 AM... based on the promo they showed today they will be rerunning the show that aired last week with the 'Prada' main characters--Streep, Hathaway, and Tucci--along with a fashion show of some of the items in the $1 million wardrobe (which was auctioned off, with proceeds going to several charities...always a good thing in my book!).

On 'The View,' Meryl Streep had some interesting comments about the way she portrayed her character, which was interesting to hear before I saw the movie...it helped to put her portrayal into context.

I really like Meryl Streep. She ALWAYS does a great job in any movie, any part she plays. Call me shallow, but I've always loved fashion mags, so I would probably enjoy the movie.

Thanks for the info.!!

OMG- I was so mad after seeing this movie. The ending was left way too open. I had too many questions. I wish it would have told what happened.
