Starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci. Rated PG-13.
"The Devil Wears Prada" is based on Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel of the same name.
Meryl Streep plays Miranda Priestley, the editor of Runway, a magazine not unlike Vogue. Anne Hathaway portrays Andrea Sachs, a recent journalism school graduate, who has been hired to serve as Ms. Priestley's second assistant.
Ms. Priestley is the Boss from Hell, and Ms. Sachs is naive to the world of fashion.
This film has a "Sex and the City" feel to it, because the director, David Frankel, directed a number of SATC episodes, and the film's fashions, which are so spectacular they should qualify as a supporting character, were coordinated by Patricia Field, the mastermind of the Carrie Bradshaw "look" for SATC.
The film features several cameos... including supermodels and an internationally renowned fashion designer.
A good, entertaining chick-flick. That's all.
