Anybody know when the city plans on repairing (and not patching) this street? I see a city worker out there some mornings patching it. Seems like they would save money if they fixed it since they patch it almost everyday. Especially with the increase in traffic from the detour on Old Richton.

I have not heard what the schedule is for a final repair but I would suspect that they are trying to give it some time to make sure that the fill material is sufficiently compacted and that the problem is not going to be repeated. The sink hole that caused the problem was pretty deep.

I passed by when they were excavating it out with a backhoe... I could have buried my car in that hole twice.

And therein lies the problem apparently. The City of Petal proponents have made it pretty clear that the only opinions that matter are those of the individuals within the "elite inner circle" of self-appointed leaders who chose to wage war and battle for the sanctity of the Petal Holy Grail against the evil dragon of Hattiesburg.

Tully, I knew there had to be a reason, and I knew you would give it to me. Thanks. If they don't hurry, my car is going to be torn up. I haven't figured out how to miss the hole yet.

Slow down and go right... when they were repairing it, you had to drive ALL the way off the road to miss it.
