I read Bart Spoon's referral to The attack Kenneth Fairley was giving because Randy Swan, a reporter for WDAM , was asking questions. Apparently, Fairley calls it biased.

I have taken a philosophy class on evil and the professor said d most dictatorships etc; get rid of the media or them for their use or just force them to work for them(no chice) Oh, the class made the distinction of bad, wrong, evil-- not all the same.

I'm as guilty of fussing about something they do but when I am concerned or want them to be in the corner of truth of something that concerns me or loved ones, or other victims of something I'm grateful they're there.

I got to wondering what it would be like to be in a community or society that has no news coverage.

I can't imagine not being able to call or e-mail some type of media with a tip of some story or rumor that they can verify. I
I know I am grateful and think I'll e-mail rswan@wdam.com and jcameron@wdam.com and tell them how much I appreciate their service.

You know, they have to operate within FCC guidelines and Raython guidelines and cover the story and anything that's newsworthy. Not all people like that but I've noticed those same people don't hesitate to use the media when they need.

I spent seven years as a reporter and then managing editor for a Pine Belt daily newspaper. The national news media - and much of the local - is biased in favor of the liberal viewpoint and I disagree with much of what they do. However, having worked in journalism I can honestly say that we need a watchdog on our officials - both national and local. Thomas Jefferson said that if he had to choose between a society with no newspapers, or a society with no government, he would choose the latter.

I think it is very important that we all use those emails Daisy was nice enough to get for us. You know they will be read and if they are written in the spirt of wanting to see our Hometown get back to the wonderful place it use to be, im sure they will make a difference. Thanks Daisy, im going to start writing mine tonight.
