Scuffle?
Someone enters my home, I don't "scuffle".
Given the opportunity, I shoot them.
To quote the inimitable G. Gordon Liddy: if someone threatens you with violence, kill them immediately.
Honestly though, it sounds to me like something else might have been going on there. Sounds like the the resident was making up a story for the cops. But, under any circumstances gunfire in the city deserves a little more investigation.
I didn't think someone could just decide they didn't want to tell much to the cops.

This was indeed a very suspicious story. There is more to this, but I just don't think the HPD is going to follow through with it.

Maybe as simple as some dumba** just wanted to shoot his gun in the air.

One's thing for certain, if you're not aiming at the person, you better be shooting into the ground in a residential area. Who needs a lawsuit?

I Heard It On The Radio. It First Came Out As A Disturbance, Then And Officer A Couple Streets Over On Another Call, Called Shots Fired From About That Location. So There Was Some Kind Of Action Going On Before The Shot Was Fired. They Called Out A Possible Home Invasion Call And Were Looking For A Dark Colored Chevy. Suburban With No Tail Lights. They Found What Looked Like A Rifle Casing In The Lot Next Door. Go Figure.

I wouldn't doubt it was some kind of drug deal gone bad or other "gang" related incident...otherwise, you would think the victims would be willing to "spill their guts" to the police....it just doesn't add up!

Maggie-D. I thought the same thing. If youwere innocent and this happened why disclose info from the police unless it could hurt you?:smt119

the best crime deterrent, assuming the home invader isn’t deaf or stoked on meth, is the sound of a shell being chambered by a pump shotgun…
like the Chief said in the paper the other day, it's up to you to protect your valuables... to heck with the valuables, I just want to protect me and mine...
daisy

I agree. Valuable can shift and cover any and everything. So was the chief saying he is no longer capable of heading a force that can protect and serve? Or am I thinking too hard? Surely he didn't mean that.

Daisy: I think that Dispatcher 1 was probably refering to the man they found at the Red Carpet Inn..I believe it was the same night that the incident happened at the Hi-Hat. I wonder WHY the Hi-Hat is even open since the owner was the one arrested recently in the Federal Drug Sting. I would think they would have seized the assets and in effect closed the place down. According to something that was previously mentioned either here or on another site, it was a domestic that happened due to overcrowding inside the club. IF that is so, WHY wasn't the club shut down for violating city code? I question if the mayor is interceding again on behalf of his friend, the owner of the club.

To paraphrase those famous words...
His mayor's black, and he can do what he wants...
www.cafepress.com/mymayorsblack
The club isn't being seized because the owners don't own the building or the property, they lease it. As far as it remaining open, the one they arrested lives on Chesterfield off of S.40th. Who else do we know that lives on Chesterfield? It's not hard to figure out why they're still wide open.
