It's that lower crime rate...they dont have as many robbers...er customers to keep them in business

In hattiesburg, isn't the Texaco by 49&59 open 24/7? Also, the citgo by palmers is open 24/7. Walmart's drink machines operate 24/7 and you don't have to pay tax, plus it's only $1 for a coke vs. $1.29+...

I think the one by palmers closes now. I think they all close on weekdays that are east of 49

I have an employee who works a second job there from 7pm to 6am, so, I think it may still be open...

I'm just wired for some reason... I'm listening to a bunch of physists on Nova on PBS... pretty interesting.

Your original observations/impressions seem accurate to me...We left a late movie at the Grand around 12:30 AM tonight [Thurs 13 July], headed north to W. 4th St, thinking we'd get gas and cold beer at the Shell [site of recent murder!] or at the Exxon--but both closed...Then down to Hardy--same story, until we got across I-59 to the BP...I've been cruising that section plenty of times after midnight since the area first developed (late '70's), and this is the first time [in some 25 years] that I recall such early closings...

As for so many of us being up this crazy late [early?], it must be that near-full "Moon over Hattiesburg"! (That's how we [USM] beat the snobs of Louisville one Saturday night!)

texaco @ 49 / i 59 closes early on saturday's due to the fact of the clubs but they do open back up when the little club rush goes down. h 42 / glendale av. use to be 24hrs also, what is happening?? is it that the people of h'burg just don't wanna work, is it that the stores are scared of the crime since the police protection is not there or what. Beacuse if you can't get a job here now it's because u don't wanna work!!

It's a conspiracy. Someone is telling all these stores to close to be inconvenient for us. I don't know who it is but I know it's someone.

The store next door... it's always some 'drama' over there with respect to the workers. Anyone who wants to get lots of overtime at $6/hr should apply at the store at the corner of 28th and Hardy. That store closes at least once a month around 6pm because no one wants to work. They constantly close early 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, etc. They're supposed to stay open until 12am, but rarely make it that far...

They're probably scared of getting robbed since HPD is shorthanded.

The infamous Exxon in Oak Grove at Old 11 and Old 24 is open 24/7.

I wouldn't work in a convenience store in HB if it meant my daughter had to go to bed hungry -- I'd work outside HB.
