View Full Version : Hattiesburg 10 Most Wanted

Does anyone here find it even slightly odd that in two days time, 2 of Hburg Most wanted have been captured. It seems to me like the PD knew where these people were and just waited for these 9 officers to graduate so it would look good in the papers about them capturing some of the burgs most wanted. Not saying anything bad about the officers, but all this seems a little strange to me.

What is really strange is why some were considered the "most wanted." Look at most of the charges...I would think they would be more interested in getting rapist, etc. rather than someone who has issued a bad check or what ever...Don't get me wrong, they should be caught too but I do think there are many more people who they should have their eyes open for...people lives are far more important than wortheless documents...or stolen items! Seems they have no priorites!

Where is the murder suspect from the mugshots incident? Shouldn't he be on there? Wouldn't murder trump bad checks?

Maybe all the bad checks were issued to Reverand Fairley in his collection plate. So that would be a HPD priority. LOL

I think murder would trump bad checks...I was unaware the suspect was formally charged for murder.

What if it was a really, Really bad check?

I had assumed he was, he was positively identified. At the very least he should be formally charged with manslaughter.

It may be harder to catch the above mentioned people--murderers.rapists,etc;--violent offenders. Better press and success to start off with the easier ones and why not keep them where you need them until you need them?

Don't you need detectives to help identify who the rapists/murderes/violent offenders are?

Where is the murder suspect from the mugshots incident? Shouldn't he be on there? Wouldn't murder trump bad checks? Chief Wynn does not consider it murder right now. It was an accident, unless the coroner says otherwise.!!! So he says at recent neighborhood meetings. The ones he shows up at, that is!

Pathfinder: I don't think the suspect has been charged with anything to this point....I doubt they will charge him with murder though...heck, I doubt they will charge manslaughter....from what I have heard they seem to think it was a freak accident...and the whole thing was blown out of perportion!

Does he seriosly think that that man was killed "accidently"? If so, i see where some of the cities problems stem from, now more than ever!

Another Top 10 was captured. Of course he was already in jail. LOL He was in Parchman serving 6 years for auto burglary. He is wanted on an uttering charge. Man our Top 10 are some really hardened criminals aren't they.

This Top 10 crap is starting to really turn into a joke. But this latest guy was already in prison, something the HPD should have known.

Exactly, JB, he wasn't captured. It took relatives telling HPD he was in Parchman. I used to think it couldn't get any more ridiculous, now I just look forward to the next laugh.

They should start filling that top 10 back up with the more violent offenders. I am positive that there are several still wanted.

U really have to do something bad in hattiesburg to be on the MOST WANTED page. Like pissing off Rev. Fairley.
I wonder if his son was ever on there for slinging CRACK!

Normally when someone is arrested they are checked on the NCIC computer for criminal history...ie: past convictions and outstanding warrants. I would have thought that if there was a conviction on this person it would have shown that he had been sent to Parchmen or where ever to serve his time...thus the p.d. could have checked to see IF he had been sent off or IF he had other active warrants...
Of course if the paperwork done by civilians is not entered in the computer due to lack of workers on the job, then things could very well slip through the cracks! People do not understand alot of times what the officer does with an incident depends on what info he has at hand..if previous info hasn't been entered as it should be, alot of criminals can fall through the cracks. I have seen it meaning a difference in life and death for an officer of the street... that is why it is so important that EVERYONE do their respective jobs. It truely takes EVERYONE at the p.d. to keep things going as they should be...from the highest ranking officer to the records & court clerks to the dispatchers...ALL of their jobs are important to the daily operation of the department!

HATTIESBURG 10 MOST WANTED THAT'S ALL THEY HAVE IS TEN IT SHOULD BE MORE LIKE 20.
HPD officers are doing what they can with what they have. There hands are tied by Mayor Fairley.
Now I know why the officers in hattiesburg are not allowed to police< the mayor was scared they would interfere with incoming shipments.

BigC,
It's not necessary to put everything in colored all caps.
It just makes it more difficult to read, so people are more likely to skip over your comments.

Sarcasm is not an art.
It's more like a bodily function.
Like flatulence.
Some of us are just more full of it than others.
