:smt102 I tried to reach the site and found a message saying the sight was suspen de because the site owner had reached its limit. Anyone else have the same problem?:smt006 :smt038 I missed it and went to Hattiesburg American Forum and found the post someone had put about the 4 new officers. Imagine we're being quoted already.:smt119
Daisy, I got the same thing around 3:00 am, but all seems to be fine now. Aaron posted about this in his blog (http://aaron.ourhattiesburg.com/2006/07/21/bandwidth-exceeded/).

I'm trying to get this worked out, the company I'm hosting with now is reporting that I'm using way more bandwidth than I have in the past. Almost 3 times what we usually use.

That's what it said BANDWIDTH whatever that is. Does that mean it's popular or crowded with people?

It's a conspiracy. Somebody is hitting the site continuously to eat up the bandwidth.

Great conspiracy theory, wilebill.
A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on myHattiesburg to suppress supporters of "Truth, Justice, and the American Way." Imagine that. :smt102

What is 10-92? withdrawal, lunacy
I missed it when I couldn't get to My HBG this morning. Someone said people keep hitting it. How do you hit it? What is broadband width? Our site is more user friendly to me than Hattiesburg Americans but they have some interesting things to read on their views.

I think the web host I use was just reporting my bandwidth wrong. I have set this site up so it doesn't use a lot of images so that I save on bandwidth even in the midst of heavy traffic. It would literally take us tripling in size to use up the bandwidth I have now.
Do you have any way of monitoring bandwidth used or do you have to rely on what the web host says?

No, I can't monitor it locally. But since this is the second web host I've been with, I can compare the stats and come up with a good estimate of what it should be. That's what I used this time, and they replied with a "We're sorry"

You can post as a guest in this section since a big part of forum support is the fact that people can't login and post.
