Comcast Cable channel 6, the First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg channel, will be off the air for several days.

"We were struck by lightning this weekend," said Sean Grizzle, media associate for First Baptist Church. "Hopefully we'll be back up by the weekend."

I'm probably the only one who sees humor in this... Probably would have been funnier if it'd been WDAM during the Mt. Carmel hour on Sunday morning.

Sometimes I watch this channel for a few minutes between commercials, but it doesn't have as many WTF moments as the Mt. Carmel show.

I've noticed today on Channel 6, FBC has been airing FBC "Classic" services, including Memorial Day 2002 (after 9/11) and Easter 1999.

They've been running the classic stuff for a long time now. It looks as if they cancelled their contract with the satellite providers that gave them national feeds, and they are concentrating on strictly local (read:free) material to air.
