View Full Version : Mayors office didn't know who was running the city this week!
I have been calling the city for 2 weeks now. I called land code enforcement 3 times last week and again this week. I left messages several times and have not had my call returned yet. I decided to call the mayor today to see if I could get help out of him. I was told he has been in Tunica all week so I ask to speak to the lady in charge under him. I laughed my as- off when the girl said, "who is that." I finally said, that Commodore lady, and was told she was with him in Tunica. I then ask "well who is running the city that I may speak to?" I heard her say uhhh uhhh uhhhhhh, I then said "never mind lady, I'll go to the next council meeting. HOW in the world can someone in the mayors office not know who is in charge? I forgot to ask to speak to the spiritual advisor, he's probably with dupree anyway. I couldn't decide to be amused or overly irritated.:smt070

Does anybody know who's running the place when Dupree and Commodore are here? Are you sure the person who answered the phone really worked there, or were they just passing by and answered a ringing phone? :smt102

The above is amusing XC9 and irritating. Someone just forgot to put someone in charge or either forgot to let people know who is in charge. I wonder how many other weeks we don't know about-- that this was the case of no one in charge. Maybe auto-pilot. I wonder why they went to Tunica. Was it for business or pleasure?
All the above threads about tax dollars, passerbys answering the phone and someone there for the hard drives are amusing. This is as good as the joke section.

They are all in Tunica for the Mississippi Municipal League Conference. All directors usually go, but this year, Bennie Sellers and Joe Townsend stayed here. And of course, no fire chief to go.
