1000 golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter on monday august 7th at the canebrake golf club. Each golf ball will have a number on it and the one that lands in the hole wins the cash. If more than one ball lands in the hole the money will be divided up. If a ball does not land in the Hole the closest to the hole wins..

So what does someone yell when you drop the golf balls? Fore or run for your lives. I 'm sure they have it barricaded off. Has anyone ever seen this? For a good cause helping people. I bet it's dramatic to watch.

Funny you mention coyote bites - took the kids to see Barnyard yesterday. Pretty funny movie. Kevin James was the voice of the main character, and he's funny. There are mean coyotes in that movie. Thankfully wilebill isn't like that. Thankfully for noway, especially. Maybe he needs to give away some of Hub's money. Now that would be funny!

Was planning on coming but got held up at work. Then I had to get my daughter at USM's girls soccer camp. I was doing the carpool pick-up thing. I swear I'm going to come to the next lunch!!!

And yes, our coyote is very sweet to put up with noway. noway is very lucky.

I start a "real" job on Tuesday. 20 minute lunches. Which is why I think we need a TGIF faction of myhattieburg.

Done with classes for now (might be taking another stats class this fall...haven't decided yet), although I do have to finish my dissertation.

I saw the news clip on WDAM but did not hear the Number on the golf ball. It also looked liked none of the balls landed in the hole.

anyone else have some info.. :smt102

I saw that also and they were measuring the distance of the ball from the hole. I didn't see them scoop the ball out of any holes. Ike Pylant won and split it with his sister. I didn't know how to do so I put some on all the choices. When does it pay out? What does and how does it pay out?

After the event closes and the winners are determined we check the box that wins.. IF you bet 50 dollars and win then you will get your 50 back plus 50 for winning..

A final number of golf balls sold was never published.. The only thing I could find is they would sell up to 1000 golf balls.. So I figured to pay out because they had no chance of winning and the bets were small.. :smt103

Yes, I bet a little on all of it since I don't have a clue and have never seen golf balls dropped out of a helicopter until on t.v. I thought they'd drop them from higher up.

I figured out why they dropped them from so low. Golfers and greenskeepers don't want their course dented.
