Silent Hill...help!

ok so has anyone wasted two hours of their life and watched Silent Hill? if so please help me out...bc that was probably the most confusing movie i've ever seen in my life!!! I had no clue what happened and at the end i just wanted to throw the remote at the tv!! please, if you have any insight..help a girl out! :smt102

Well I want to see it but if its confusing I might have to buy it or rent so I can watch it a few times LOL

yeah bc im totally lost...lol...its based off a game..and i get the underlying meaning but still...there is just this one concept that i totally dont understand

Why was it confusing?

It's been a while since I've seen it, but the way I remember it is that this chick's little girl is having these "visions" of this place, so the mom decides to take her to this place, Silent Hill, that the girl is apparently seeing to see if it makes her better. Along the way a snoopy cop gets suspicious and follows her up there. Next thing you know they're all in Silent Hill, the girl's missing, and some kind of strange fog has settled over the town.

Meanwhile the dad figures out that the mom's taken the girl to Silent Hill, so off he goes.

The mom spends some time fumbling around the town, and every once in a while the sirens go off and bad things start happening (one of the few redeeming qualities of the movie).

Turns out that back in the day the town nutjobs decided that this girl (not the mom's daughter, a different girl) was a witch. They must have been a pretty good judge of character because the kid became evil incarnate, and somehow what little bit of "goodness" existed in the kid got split off and became the mom's girl, or something like that.

The few nutjobs left in the town aren't happy that the mom has brought the girl back, so they burn the cop at the stake, more or less. By now the mom has figured everything out, frees the evil little booger, and then the evil kid takes her revenge on all the nutjobs, and then just goes away, leaving the not-so-evil girl behind.

Meanwhile the dad is running all over town looking for them, but can't find them, since apparently the mom and girl have slipped into some kind of alternate reality (the fog) and are trapped forever. The end.

I think that's how it happened, but like I said, it's been a while since I saw it, and I kind of lost interest by the end. I didn't really like the movie. Maybe someone else can correct any mistakes I made.

ok thanks!! see thats what i was confused about was the two different worlds the mom and daughter and the dad seemed to be in...bc even at the end when they returned home...it was like they couldnt see each other and were two diff. time frames...i was just very confused about that bc it didnt really get explained what was going on! but thanks...that helped some...i agree with you in not liking the movie...i guess thats why it was confusing..it was very easy to lose interest
