I doubt if MSU even SCORES against LSU... can we get a small side vBookie on that one before kickoff?
I'm with you JMB - Hawk will either lead us to victory or we'll be 'crying in our beers' as they say!!
If we end up crying in our beers, we'll at least be in good company! ;)
Thanks for the confindence, I mean pressure, girls. I just hope we get lucky....the handicappers made several of these coin flips with the big spreads and strange things happen in football games. There was only one game I had confindence in and I ain't gonna jinx'em.
Have a cold one and chill, red man. We're gonna do just fine. :)

Since the guy's a criminal, he could be a graduate of either school.

Tenneseee 27, Memphis 0 in the 4th.....I felt pretty good about taking Tennessee on this one, b/c Memphis even lost to Ole Miss and didn't look really impressive against the I-AA team they beat, before losing again to East Carolina. This appears to be a down year at Memphis.

Final: Tennesee 41, Memphis 7
TN QB Ainge 23/27 320 yards, 4TDs, 0 INT backup was 2/2 as well.

I swear, I couldn't believe that. Maybe Croom will use that in his post-game interview: "We kept them from beating the spread".

Well, on the face, the Ole Miss game should be a LOCK, but I'm not so sure. Ole Miss loses at home to WAKE FOREST 27-3, so surely you think they'll get stomped by Georgia by at least 18 1/2. However, Georgia isn't a great offensive team and barely beat a rebuilding Colorado team at home last week. I hope my "ORANGATAN IS A MORON!" instincts are correct tonight!

Some updates Notre Dame 35, Purdue (+141/2) 21.... Purdue has the ball with 1:29 left...not looking good for those who picked Notre Dame.
End of 3rd Quarter: Texas Tech Red Raiders 24, Texas A&M 17 (- 1 1/2) -- might be losing some hubbucks on that one. :smt102
Big Upset: Ga Tech 31, Va Tech 13 in the 3rd
Florida (-13 1/2) finally went ahead of Alabama 14-10 -- another 10 points would be nice!

I just can't get into vbookie or college football this year like I did last when everybody had pretty much the same amount of money and every bet could make or break you. The competition amongst ourselves was what made the games so interesting.
I wish we'd done the league thing.

wilebill, I am sorry you're not into it like last year. I am enjoying it a lot.
Has anyone noticed how Ole Miss"s field looks like it has white dots all over it? I imagine it's the way the turf is reflecting the light.. The field looks like it has a terrible case of dandruff.

I've felt kinda the same about it, but laying it all down on some games and then losing it will make you think a bit differently about it.

I think I did go 8-4.
Despite my sorry record this weekend, I'm still having fun!
College football Saturday wasn't too kind. I won 5 bets (36,000) and lost 7 (40,000).

QM, you shoulda waited for me!!! I did all right this week in picking, just should have been more daring with the dollar amount!
Hubbarister, I know you lost a good chunk of hubbucks on the Ole Miss/Georgia game, but I am kinda glad you did! I was VERY PLEASED with how the Rebs played last night... it's a loss, but a much better-played loss than we've been seeing. They held their own, and even ESPN guys were making comments on how stupid the refs were.

That is witty, Hubbarrister. I like Gene Taylor and find him an exception. NO CAPITAL TAX .:smt070 Hub, you could write off so much for charity as well as Wilebill.:smt038

Nope, I'm keeping Gene and Billy Bob.
Then shouldn't you qualify your signature? I'll agree with the premise of your current signature in that Gene Taylor needs to go..but Randy McDonnell isn't a real alternative. :smt102

We've heard this before (1992 comes to mind) but our political system simply isn't condusive to a viable third party system. No third party candidate has ever won a Presidential election and only rarely has won a statewide one (Jesse Venture being elected Governor in 1998 in Minnesota on the Reform Party ticket was quite remarkable). I agree there is frustration by some in the right within the GOP and many in general within the Dems, but the best hope for reform is to work within for change.
