I've been told unofficially that the EGP will open from 59 to 11 this month. Has anyone else heard anything?

If by 'October' they mean 'next year', then, yeah, I'm with them.

I deliberatley drove out 59 and took the glendale exit just to see what the progress was. 1/2 of what I saw looked really good. I'm REALLY excited. I actually saw guys WORKING on the road! However, with the pace I've seen them make, I'd be suprised if I was cruising the Parkway on Halloween. It would be NICE, but I'm just a pessimist at heart.

I was out there Friday & was suprized how much was done.
Nowhere near finished though.
They have lights up out near camelia gardens (don't remember the name of the road) & the intersection seems finished.

The end of this month is the latest official word or the parkway opening from 59 to Hy 11 with the remainder to Hy42 being by the end of the year (this year). Wish I could guarantee those deadlines but this is a project of which the city of Petal has no jurisdiction - we're just waiting anxiously like everyone else. James Moore
