I know some of you will be interested to know that Hudson's in Hattiesburg has a selection of electric pianos, drum kits, drum heads/sticks cymbals, etc, plus some mixer boards, huge DJ setup speakers, etc. all for 1/2 off.

I didn't look like anything had been picked through. There were about 8-10 kits there, plus a few conga's.

50% off the 100% markup on retail. Don't bother going... the retail on a mic stand was $40, which makes it $20, which is the same as any music store in town.

Yeah, you have to know your stuff when you go in Hudson's...

Also, they have what appears to be a Wal-Mart toy stock in at 60% off. Some action figures, lots of coloring books, other name brand toys, etc. It's marked a few dollars above what it normally goes for, but then it's 60% off that price. Not a bad deal.

Hawkeye
"Speaking of sales, my wife went to pick up my copy of "State of Denial" today which had been on reserve since Monday. After driving all the way there, the staff at BooksAMillion told her they were in the back but would not have time to get them on the shelves until Friday. Can you believe that crap? Glad those folks don't work for me. Anyway, as I would, she blew a fuse and told them were to put the $30 book."

They thought it was anti Clinton Book

I saw JBL mid-highs and subs, and there was a Mackie 16 chan Onyx mixer. They were also selling 10' XLR cables for 50% off the Hudson's price of $40(!).

Actually, the music stock at Hudson's appears to have been marked down twice. If you look closely at the items, most have a tag from the music store, then a lower price from Hudson's. My sister picked up a Tre Cool stick bag that was marked $24.99 for the music store price, $19.99 for the Hudson's price, and then 50% off. She also got a good acrylic kit-mount cowbell for about $5.

Some of the prices aren't bad, but you've got to take them on a per-item basis, just like everything else there.
