Just letting anyone know ...
A letter, on bright red paper, sent home with my 6 yo yesterday states there has been an outbreak of ChickenPox at Oak Grove Lower Elementary School.
Symptoms Include: sudden onset of slight fever, feeling tired and weak. Soon followed by a rash. Blisters will eventually dry, crust over and form scabs. Blisters are common on the covered areas of the body ie: scalp, armpits, trunk and even eyelids.
Symptoms commonly appear 13-17 days after being exposed.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD ASPRIN DURING THIS TIME. (Not sure why ... this is what was on the notice)
**The letter also states that even though the child may have been vaccinated, they may still get a mild case of the virus ... SO WATCH CAREFULLY!!**
The kiddies shouldn't return to school until ALL blisters have crusted over and dried out.
