It can't come soon enough! After it is built it will be interesting to see IF they continue to turn criminals loose! I think they need to have room to expand...and beds for maybe 400 off the bat...especially since the Burg has gained so many new people and probably more to come! :smt038

If we keep our present admin. we wont need any beds there. There wont be any officers to arrest anyone.

I can't wait to see the controversy over a proposed location for this new jail. The nimby's will be out in full force over this one.

Tully you are probably right...I look for it to be a "real" circus too! I "think" I read a few weeks ago that they would like to put it down close to the youth court building just off James St. & Williams St. I would have mixed emotions about it being there...it is bad enuf that the p.d. is in the middle of gang territory, most citizens hate going there when they have to..fearing for their personal safety, then to put the s.o. there too! I do see their rationale though in a way..however, like the p.d. I think I would prefer for it to be more centrally located.
