New Construction on Hwy 42

Does anyone know what's going up next to the old Exxon station on 42 west of the high school? I also see that there is work being done to the old Exxon station? Any ideas on what these are going to be?

New hardware store... I'd shoot you the link to the discussion we had about it on the HA forums, but since they've 'upgraded' their software, it's gone... maybe Mr. Moore could shed some specific light on this one.

There are two construction projects at the corner of Hy 42 and Harrington road. The Exxon is rebuilding and expanding at it's original site while a new hardware is going up on the large slab immediately to the West or the Exxon property. James Moore

It will be a "Do It Best" brand hardware. Similar in concept to an ACE in that it is locally owned but has affiliation with a national brand. They typically offer tool and equipment rental as well.

I would be remiss to mention the entry of a new hardware to our city without also pointing out the new retail hardware store recently opened by Big Red at their building supply site and to also mention the recent investment made by ACE when they relocated form the corner of Main and Central to South Main.

Some feel three hardware stores would be too much for a town our size, but with added choices often comes a shift in the minds of customers. Customers who have assumed that a trip to Lowe's or Home Depot was always needed for specialty hardware items will be pleased to find everything they need right here at home.
