The Burg is about to get a new blues club... :smt038 I hope it is in a decent area of town...maybe close to Ropers rather than down on the bypass where the ho's hang out!
Not quite Maggie. It's up on Hwy 42 W. at the intersection of 49 and 42 where the old Bea's Boiler was out in the county. Actually, it has been open for over a month.

That is just too far out of the way for anyone to go to...

Do they have hookers?
Have you ever considered doing a blues night special, say maybe once a year? Preferably when I'm on vacation? That would be so much fun.

you have seared ahi there don't you?
thats good stuff.
We discuss it from time to time. If we could do it by invitation only, it might be worth considering. I think "T-bone" Pruitt is still kicking? We've kept Monday's reserved for private parties and such. CISCO Systems had a nice private gathering a couple weeks ago.
You could fill the house with mh members. :)

Man, I miss King Konga. I was listening to their last CD this weekend.

Yeah, they broke up a few years ago. Tony Lymon now teaches percussion at Petal High. Dan is a music producer in Atlanta. I don't know where Steve is.

Hawk-
T bone is still around... and I talked to him about his booking fees etc. when you and I had talked about this kind of thing pre- Katrina. (For the memorial at Camp Shelby). He is really cheap as far as bands go.
I remember going to your place to see King Konga and the crawfish boils. I am probably one of those college kids you are complaining about now, but it was a blast, and those of us who are still around in the area wish that you would do it again. Of course we are all older now and won't be acting like such fools.
With the cool weather coming in, having T Bone one night and making those who wanted to hear it pay a cover may not be a bad idea... you still have some extra wood laying around.. a bonfire and blues sounds great to me!

It is good to know the new club isn't in the hood! They should do good out at the old B's Boiler...the restaurant always seemed to do good. It is a little out of the way but at least there is less likely hood of getting kidnapped or shot with it out there...I don't imagine that the thugs go that far out into the country...MOST of them anyway!
