this is quite random (thats me queen of randomness)..but im mainly throwing this out there for women but hey if your a guy and have a solution - by all means, be my guest. anyways, i have the biggest problem with static electricity in my hair! i have tried changing shampoo, using conditioner, changing conditioner, stop using conditioner, changing hairbrushes, even using a dryer sheet!!! and nothing helps. does anyone have a solution bc im tiring of walking around looking like i just touched one of those electric things that makes your hair stand up and its always sticking to me bc its so.....static(k)y (i dont think thats a word?) :smt102

I have a friend who is a beautician and she told me she puts her combs and brushes in a container with water and Snuggles (or any of the fabric softeners) lets them soak then takes them out and lets them dry on a thick towel. She said she has also taken the dryer sheets and run them over her hair before brushing. I don't know if it works or not but she swears by it. I have real short hair so I don't usually have that problem, it sticks all out anyway! :) lol put about 3 tbsps. of the fabric softener to about a quart of water...shake it up then put the combs and brushes in to soak...

get a humidifier or fix your hair in the same room where a pot of boiling water is.

How about getting one of those dangly things at the autoparts store that you drag behind your car. Instead of hooking it to your car, you can drag it along underneath your slacks.
I know they lessen the static electricity on car radios.

I have to run a fabric sheet over my daughter's hair sometimes after I brush it ... As for my hair ... LOL ... it's a different animal all together ...
Try Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Conditioning Treatment or Frizzies Treatment. There's a rinse out and a leave in formula that works wonders ... IMO the humidifier would work temporarily, but as soon as you hit the humidity outside ... your hair is screwed.

do you remember the alberto vo5 in a tube? squirt a little in your hands, rub them together and run them through your hair. not only will your hair shine, it should hold it in place. it's not stickey either. it's good for your hair. lots of protein.

Try that cream that they used on "Something About Mary".

How often do you wash your hair? Your hair really only needs to be washed every 2-3 days. Washing your hair less frequently doesn't strip it of its natural oils and will help with the static problem.

Try spraying your brush with hairspray before brushing your hair. Works for me - sometimes.

i heart - I wash my hair everyday too. I have to in order to "refresh" my curls. You should find a really light-weight mousse. Put some in right when you get out of the shower. Then blow dry your hair. it won't leave it sticky, crunchy, or anything. It will just be natural, but more manageable. Trust me - I know.
Also, with the whole washing your hair thing... Instead of washing everyday, take baby powder and sprinkle it on the roots of your hair where the oils are (yes it will be white). But then blow dry your hair as usual and the oils and white color will disappear. And your hair will look freshly cleaned. I do this when my hair is straight. B/c if I wash it - it goes back to curly.
Hope you find something that works :-)
