I had no idea we were so close to this happening.
Three years after the Food and Drug Administration first hinted that it might permit the sale of milk and meat from cloned animals, prompting public reactions that ranged from curiosity to disgust, the agency is poised to endorse marketing of the mass-produced animals for public consumption.
The decision, expected by the end of this year, is based largely on new data indicating that milk and meat from cloned livestock and their offspring pose no unique risks to consumers.
"Our evaluation is that the food from cloned animals is as safe as the food we eat every day," said Stephen F. Sundlof, the FDA's chief of veterinary medicine, who has overseen the long-stalled risk assessment.

This is why I have tried to work my way towards all organic food puchases. SCARY

I won't go into it, but there are very good reasons to stay away from organic foods.
Also, other countries are not always as smart as us. If they were they'd have enough food.

I know I have heard the arguments for not buying organic food such as the amount of land and such- ie - i was told that for every organic apple I buy some kid dies of starvation because I am supporting a food iindustry that takes up too much land and we can't produce food for the starving people eveywhere.
If there is some gross something out there- I want to know about it.

It's not the milk that's cloned, guys. It's the cows.

The more I read about this. I feel more fortunate and happy about my fathers angus farm which we get our beef from him. I know when we have ran out, I have had to pick up some meat elsewhere. It is just not as good and the quality just don't seem the same. Not to mention the way the beef has smelled cooking it...

Prolly nothing, 58Ford, just as there's nothing wrong with cottage cheese. I love it. But I'm NOT putting "clabbered milk" in my mouth.

That's essentially the same question I posed regarding genetically engineered/altered veggies and grains that we've been consuming but other countries refuse to import them.
Now, there's a scary thought. I never had a clue. I 'spose it's like cross breeding flowers. I'm not sure, but if cloning is cross breeding with yourself, that adds new meaning to inviting someone to "go f yourself", doesn't it? Might become profitable.

I'm wandering into an area I'm completely ignorant of here, but, common sense tell me if someone tried to pack my ears with that starving kid drivel, I keep my eyes on that dude.

Ever eaten Boudin? Wonderful stuff. Don't ask, don't tell is a good position to take. Liver Pudding is another product I won't put in my mouth but the stores sell it to somebody.
I won't even feed my dog canned dog food. Perfectly legal to use road kill in it.

I'm still trying to find the teats on a soy bean but my hands are prolly too big, anyway.
Think back to your teenage days, Hawk and it will come naturally. You could do that in the dark, back then.

Oh yeah, my ex girlfriend was raised on a working farm. They literally got their food from that farm, meat (beef, pork and chicken), eggs, milk, butter, veggies. When her dad sold the farm and went to work for the RR, she had a real hard time eating food from the grocery store. Like fresh tuna and canned tuna. Not even the same taste nor texture. If you've ever had a fresh egg right out of the nest, you can see the difference when you put it in the frying pan.

I do loves me milks. But here's a question I haven't researched much. Here in the US, we've been consuming genetically engineered veggies and grain for quite some time. What I've been noticing is that many foreign countries reject our grain exports because they've been genetically altered. What do they know that we don't? And I'm talking about poor, starving countries known to eat anything that doesn't eat them first who're turning our food down. :smt102
Much of the opposition to genetically engineered foods is based on ignorance and fears bordering on superstition. Consider that until recently in Africa it was/ is thought that HIV was not the cause of AIDS. They reject our meddling and drugs and info on safe sex. That is not to say there are legitimate concerns with the technology. One measure of safety for these genetically modified (gm) seeds is to render the seeds of the offspring sterile. This prevents propagation of unwanted strains and mutations. This also means that one must aquire new seed stock every year, making these countries beholden to the manufacturer for next years crop (seeds from current crop are sterile).
