i try to keep my posts short because if its too long someone will say "need hubbucks" like there is something wrong with making hubbucks.is there a rule that says how long a post should be?
if someone thinks a post is to long why not just skip it,did someone on here at one time make posts that were thousands of words long,if so i missed it.
Just wondering why its such a big deal.:)

I was unaware that the lenght of posts were related to hubbucks.
I have had people ask me about hubbucks when I made the rare long post.
I just notice that the more active I am on MH the more show up.

58,i was like you for a long time,but then i noticed that i got more points for a longer post and then i knew what people were talking about.but shouldnt people be saying,wtg,with that long post,you made a lot of hubbucks, instead of saying,you just tryin to be greedy,what are we ,in 3rd grade? but i dont know maybe there is a rule against it.:smt102

Dave, you can make your posts as long or short as you want to. It is true that the longer the post is, the more hubbucks you earn. Each reply is worth 5 plus points for the number of characters, with the exception of the games section. Those are only worth 1 hubbuck plus points for # of characters.

Click on reply, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. At the lower left, there's a box that tells what it pays for starting and replying to posts. It doesn't include anything about the # of characters though.

Some of us are just long winded or we can't exactly say we want to say...it is not a matter of being greedy or trying to get points or bucks.

There are some people... well, certain people... no, a few people... okay one guy who loves to type a bunch of things that says nothing after you've read it all. Or who likes to copy and paste really long speeches just to earn some hubbucks. I can't say who that guy is, but his name starts with an "h" and ends in "ubbarrister".

The whole purpose of getting hubbucks for posting is to reward people for participating in the forums. So you should post messages ever how long you want them to be, or as long as it takes for you to say what you want, and not do it just for the sake of being a money-grubbing hubbuckster.

Maybe someone could start a thread that was specificly started for poeple to copy large amounts of senseless text into.
You could title it so that noone would want to read it, maybe an Oak Grove thread.

there's a big difference between writing a long post and cutting a pasting a long post. Those long posts that are written out aren't usually ridiculed... only those that are copied and pasted and have little relevance to the person reading... now those will draw fire, and rightly so.
