Whoo Hoo

That's what the boys round these parts said. From looking at me, you'd never know I had an umbrella (and was using it).

It got really serious where I was around 2pm. The intersection at Hardy and whatever that street where Barnhill's is, got scary for a little while. Rushing water and everything.

i am so glad that i cut the grass yesterday. i would have never gotten it done with all this rain and it would have grown so high!

i am grateful for the rain though. the flowers needed it. i've been neglecting them.

I noticed this morning I have a lot of beautiful green weeds that grew overnight. Yay! The hubby can use his new loan mower again!

I hope we can get more rain like yesterday...I can do without the severe thunder and the light show however...I think I already hear a low thunder way off in the background now. Stay safe everyone! Keep and eye to the sky!

Is that the thing that shaves interest points off a mortgage?

Where do they sell those things. I gotta have one. Seriously, I could pay some stuff off.:-D

You don't have someone to do that for you?

no. why would i pay someone to do it when i am capable of doing it myself? besides - i enjoy the results so much more! i like to work in the yard and in the flower garden.

on another note - we are getting rain right now!

For most of us it was thunder, but in your case it could go either way.

Maggie-Doodle
08-31-2007, 08:16 PM
We went up to Rayner's on Hwy. 49 to eat supper tonite...geez, the bottom fell out just as we got to Hwy. 49/59 overpass....BIG lightening bolts and heavy thunder...rained so hard we could hardly see! There was a car that apparently hydroplaned at the bridge by the Family Dollar...it was sitting on the shoulder of the bridge headed south bound on the northbound side...whole front end was smushed and no other vehicle appeared to have been involved. They motioned everyone else to keep driving...they sure had the traffic backed up though.

Yeah, the yard guy is on his way to cut the wet grass. Don't know how to feel about that -- guess I'll live with clumped up but short grass.

Looks as if we may miss the showers today...Bee Line got out yesterday afternoon and cut our grass...it had gotten so long that BooBoo didn't want to go out in it to pee! Every time she would go to squat she would jump right back up! :) Thank goodness he got done in time...he hardly got the mower put up when the storm came.

I was at my MOM'S today in North Laurel. We got a heavy shower, complete with thunder, etc. Sounded nice with their tin roof.:)

Heads up folks. A funnel cloud has been spotted just north of Camp Dantzler or the Paul B. Johnson area and is moving ENE. Please be on the lookout. This is first hand information from one of our deputies and the voluteer fire dept.

Gosh, it's the middle of December and the temperature is 69 degrees and it's early morning...I'm beginning to think that I won't get to wear my winter clothes at all this year!

dollfus46
12-10-2007, 08:20 AM
Here's what the Farmer's Almanac says about the Southeastern U.S. for December:

Southeastern U.S.

December 2007
1st-3rd Heavy rain from Gulf Coast north and east to Carolinas, then clearing
4th-7th Chilly rains
8th-11th Cold, dry
12th-15th Showery, thundery conditions, then fair
16th-19th Mainly fair skies
20th-23rd Showery Mississippi east, then clearing, very cold weather; frosts down to Florida
24th-27th Sunshine gives way to increasingly cloudy skies
28th-31st Rain Florida north, then fair and colder

Maybe there's hope for a cold Christmas afterall!!!!!

I never know if that includes upper SC or not. SC is Southern politically (Confederate state), but to some it's Southeastern, and to others it's Mid Atlantic. It's kinda on the line. Looks like a cold New Years here though.
