I might like to go to one of those things, but I would need someone other than noway to hold my hand. :smt102

Have I told the story about shutting down a haunted house when I was little? I wouldn't to be like hubba and recycle, recycle, recycle, recycle, recycle, recycle the same bit over and over and over and over and over again.

I like Halloween. I used to like to stay home in the early evening & hand out candy. I don't live in the best neighborhoodBut there are some day cares in the area, and I'd usually get 2 or 3 groups of 6 to a dozen kids tended by a couple of adults.
I can't do the candy thing any more for the past few years all that came by were 20-something thugs with no costumes.
I can't even decorate anymore (they kicked in my jackolanterns)
I will be in costume though. & I will be heading to a couple of parties.

I want to dress up and do something fun for halloween... guess I'll just stay in my apt. and hand out candy. Maybe I'll carve a jackolantern this weekend! Anyone know where to find any cute kitty costumes in town? PetSmart basically only has dog stuff :(

Get one of those crescent shaped hair thingys & glue felt ears to it.
Wear your favorite black underwear.
Sew a 3ft long fabric tube, turn inside out, stuff with toilet paper & pin to the back of your outfit.
Instant Kitty!

lol... no, I meant costumes for cats. I want to dress up my siamese (Sebastian!) for halloween but can't find any "kitty costumes" for him around town.

Would this be a good place to remind everyone that tonite at PetSmart they are having their "Doggy Costume" party from 6-8 p.m.???? Think I will go check it out...I think you and pet can have Halloween photo taken but Scruffy will probably not socialize well (doesn't think he's a dog) so I'll leave him at home....

jojo, last year I'm pretty sure the hours were from 4-7 or something like that. No one's home at 4, save for old ladies and people who take halloween off. Last year people started hitting the street at 5ish and it went on til almost 8 or so, least in my neighborhood.

Zorro could offer to wear his N.T. Wright outfit and give a talk on "What Converyor Belt Really Said" at the kirk Wednesday night, Nov. 1 (a/k/a All Saints Day). He's been keeping it in his closet all year to scare his friends at the Reformation party. :)

Seriously, Oct. 31 is also the day Martin Luther 'started' (http://www.homiliesbyemail.com/Special/Reformation/timeline.html) the protestant reformation by tacking his theses (http://www.iclnet.org/pub/resources/text/wittenberg/luther/web/ninetyfive.html) on the Wittenburg Church door.

I would imagine local churches will be celebrating the occasion in different ways on Tuesday. Anybody know of anything specific?

A coworker of mine goes to a church in purvis that is having a festival. I can't imagine that First Pres is not doing something because I grew up Presby and we always had something- usually called a "Reformation Party" due to the reasons stated above.

has anyone seen the movie "American Haunting"? I've rented it to watch tonite after the trick-or-treaters are done...

I was excited to see that QuakerOats had Halloween packaged mini granola bars. I have a problem with kids being so unhealthy these days... At least this is a somewhat healthier option that I can hand out to them.... cuz I doubt the children would appreciate apples, carrot sticks, and protein shakes!
