I voted that the Democrats will take the Senate while the Republicans keep the house. This isn't my desire however..

Well, hale's bales! I clicked the wrong dot. I do NOT think the dems will take both the house and the senate; rather ,dems take the senate and repubs take the house. Dain bramage, again.

I really think the house will go to the Democrats. Their task seems much more daunting to take the Senate where many candidates, such as Rick Santorum, are making last ditch moves in the polls.

I think two years of Speaker Pelosi will be enough to insure another Democratic loss in 2008, though the GOP hasn't really offered much better.

There's a chance the Republicans can hold both chambers, but there's a chance we'll have visitors from outer space tomorrow. I think the Republicans will keep the Senate, hoping they hang on to both.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if the Dems won one of the 2. It makes the other party compromise on things instead of trying to ram things through. It should make for more non-partisanship agreements.

I have a stupid, stupid question:

how is nancy Pelosi planning on getting all this stuff done she's claiming? Even if they do take the majority by a few seats, the President still has to sign a bill into law, and it takes a 2/3 majority to over-ride a veto, right? What makes her think this stupid, dumb, ingorant, stubborn President is going to bow down and do whatever a democratically held congress will send to him? Just a thought...

Just my opinion, but even with a Rebublican Congress, the Dems have been able to make it difficult to get much done and now they're calling the Republicans the least effective congress in history. Go figure. Now Nancy, the most arrogant politician since Harry Reid is going to conquor the world with a one man advantage? I heard someone, an anti Bush guy, can't remember who, on TV last night, can't remember which program, say that the Dems wouldn't elect Pelosi Speaker. She was too polarizing and not mainstream democrat enough. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

11/03/2006 According to NBC's Tim Russert, the Republican's admit their own polling is showing they will lose at least 23 seats in the House, while they see the Senate races being 50/50 to regain a one seat majority, saying they must win in TN, MO, and VA, all tight races.

I saw that...one memo said that the Reps could lose 20-40 seats in the House. Not that I see that happening, but it's interesting to see that the Pubbies are so worried.

I have no problem with the House going to the Dems. This way when the country is falling apart in two years it is impossible to day that it is the fault of the republican party. You can look to see what the Democrats DID NOT deliver on. I will be pissed if my taxes go up.

If you hear talk of taxes going up, don't get defensive too quick until you see who it effects. Taxes may go up for households making more than $500K/p/y, but not for middle income bracket. You might also expect to see more emphasis on lowering higher education cost to the masses.

In fact, don't expect much change at all too fast, as the Veto card will be played.

I'm just a trickle down economics guy at heart, I guess... I don't understand taxing the people with the most disposable income. Let them spend it, which they will. The more people with lots of money, the more they try to outdo one another in expedatures, thus creating jobs. people with money want to make more money, and create businesses, etc... If you're a business owner, and you make more money, you're going to invest it back into your business to help grow the business, hire more employees, to make more money... threatening to take that money away is not an incentive to growth. That's just how I feel about the situation... Damn, it reads like a lesson in Reganomics, doesn't it...

I agree to a great extent. But, it's been the little guys carrying the load as the big fish slip out through loopholes in the net. Not only not paying any taxes, but getting crazy money to boot.

One day, I hope to be a big fish...
