After months of ignoring this race, the Hattiesburg American has actually acknowledged that Chancery Judge Sebe Dale, Jr faces "strong" opposition this year, and has even acknowledged he is 85 years old. I wonder what the full story in tomorrow's paper will read?

Wilebill, thanks for the sarcasm
Sure, you're welcome, no problem. Just try to help out any way I can. That's what friends are for.
As of late, the path of the evolution of a thread usually has nothing to do with the original topic. It's great.

You're still on your age discrimination thing, Hubbarrister? This is bordering on bigotry at this point. The fact is, Sebe Dale could live to be 100, and either of the other guys could have a heart attack on Wednesday. Do you know of a life-threatening condition that Chancellor Dale has, or are you just trying to scare people in this case?

Maybe you should talk to Congress about this then. Federal District Court (trial level) Judges are placed on Senior Status once they reach the age of 70, which means they keep the cases they have, but a newly appointed Judge takes on the full-time status of hearing all the new cases. Judge Dale is at least fifteen years older than this.
So? Sebe Dale isn't running for a federal seat. Your point is irrelevant.
I'll be writing my Endorsement post in this race later this week.
Sounds like you've pretty much done this already.

Why wait? We need to know who NOT to vote for...

Simply put, if the Federal Government through Congress has determined that age 70 is old enough to be a full-time trial court Judge in the Federal Courts, then certainly we should have great pause about re-electing an 85 year old Judge at the state court level.
Sounds as if you don't really believe in states' rights, hub. Are you really suggesting that we should roll over and apply all federal governmental operations to state governmental operations?
I bet your opinion will change on this if the democrats take over Congress next week.

First, you said this:
Simply put, if the Federal Government through Congress has determined that age 70 is old enough to be a full-time trial court Judge in the Federal Courts, then certainly we should have great pause about re-electing an 85 year old Judge at the state court level.
Then, you said this:
I frankly dislike the Federal model...
I now have no clue as to where you stand.

Once again, the Hattiesburg American proves it is the worst local paper in Mississippi.
