Supposedly Wendy’s in Petal was robbed last night. The rumor has it that the goon had a hand gun used in the robbery and took a car of one of the employees in the escape. Has any one else heard this and can verify the story?

On my way home last night, about 2am, I saw some blue lights down that way when I made my turn onto Old Richton...

HA, of course, reports nothing from either Hattiesburg or FCSD.

He crawled through the drive-thru window? Was it a midget or something?

No, they have the large glass windows at Wendy's. He had to be really tall or jump up or something, because those windows are HIGH.

I’m starting to see a relationship between junk or fast food and crime!!!! That’s why crime is up, wasn’t there a thread about how Mississippi was one of the higher rated heavy (increase) states!! Who needs crime stoppers when there is weight watchers. :smt021

Yes, Mississippi is full of fat arses.

Its remarkable that a state that prides itself on family, home, frount porch, and easy living actually averages a lifespan of 72, whereas people live much longer in "fast" citiies.

Then, I watched the Governor veto a tobacco tax in favor of a grocery tax and thought C'est la vie.

I guess there is so much competition among criminals in Hattiesburg they are having to branch out into Petal. I hope this is not the beginning of a trend.

If it is a trend, I think it will be short lived.

I have faith in the PPD, when they pull you over they check you out. They do and will pull people over just look at the traffic dockets. Some may think it’s a hassle but if you’re not doing any thing wrong, have insurance and are polite you shouldn’t have to worry, it’s a minor aggravation. I think it’s a small price to pay for safety.

I have also heard rumor of a resident sharpening up his handicap with a golf club on a crack head cutting the screens on his home to break in. (who said golf couldn't be a contact sport) The criminal aspect needs to realize that there are quite a few ex Hattiesburg residents that have moved over to Petal that are p’d off and don’t want any more $#@!.

The car that was stolen was the vehicle of a junior girl at the High School.

I hope that the slezeball criminals over in Hattiesburg are not getting any ideas about coming across the river to wreak havoc in Petal! If they do, they are gonna find out the hard way that WE have a Police Dept. in this town!!!

I noticed stepped up patrols in several areas around Petal last night.

Tully you have to remember they CAN step up patrols because they have the officers to do so...Hburg has to "step-down!"

I appreciate seeing PPD patrolling the city. In spite of our recent "crime wave" my family and I feel very safe in Petal. Lee Shelbourne (sp?) has done an excellent job with the department.
