Did yaw know houseflies are the second deadliest insects on earth after Mosquitos......................cool
Flies

Houseflies can spread some 200 pathogens and parasites to humans. The tsetse fly (http://www.factmonster.com/ce6/sci/A0849576.html) is another dangerous variety, spreading sleeping sickness. Caused by a parasite, sleeping sickness enters the central nervous system where it causes deep coma and death. About 250,000 to 300,000 people die each year in Central Africa (http://www.factmonster.com/ce6/world/A0802668.html) from sleeping sickness.

My fav.
Giant Wingless COCKROACHES

Most cockroaches are not pests, and seldom come into houses, also, most are less harmful to us than many of the insecticides that are used against them. Almost nothing is known about most of the cockroaches of South Africa, so there are plenty of opportunities for school projects! Some cockroaches make wonderful pets.

I've had crickets in the past... they're not bad, but the legs get caught in your teeth like blackberry seeds

If you've ever seen a live maggot mass, you probably won't be eating Rice Krispies anytime soon.

Maggot therapy has recently made a comeback, with FDA approval for healing anything from diabetic ulcers to post-surgical wounds.

My favorite insects are the lightening bug, butterfly, ladybug, & the dragonfly. That pic of the brown recluse is creepy! I killed a brown recluse(we call them violins because of the violin shaped marking on their thorax) that measured a good 3 inches from leg tip to leg tip & his body was almost as big around as my thumb! We grow 'em big down here!:smt118
