From the HA website...

Four new police officers are expected to be sworn during ceremonies on Dec. 19, Hattiesburg Police Chief David Wynn said this afternoon. Wynn told the Hattiesburg Civil Service Commission that the four officers are lateral transfers from other departments. He would not name the officers or the police departments.

of course they aren't going to mention who they are....they don't want them to be heckled and laughed at before the start.....they want wynn to laugh and heckle them off the force.....
Maybe a vBookie is in order.

IGID, I laughed when I read that but then felt sad to know HPD has gotten to this point.
Why the big secret of who they are. This sounds strange to me. Hope it's not any of the New Orleans cops that were looting or anything like that. I hate that Wynn feels so powerful over everyone because he keeps stupid secrets.

XC9, ain't that the truth! He acts like a kindergarten kid with his damn secrets! What needs to be secret is not and what should not be secret is! GO FIGURE! I suppose we have to consider the source!
I saw an article in todays HA about the new officers and the two b/f's that just quit. According to the article the chief said he told them what they would be making BEFORE they were hired! Well, if that is the case, someone, somewhere is lying...they said they left because they were told they would make more, he said they knew what they would be getting...NOW what we need is the true story! IF anyone in city admin. KNOWS the truth.

"He said one officer who recently resigned has returned to the police department"
The one that resigned and then returned to H.P.D. did so after being hired by U.P.D. and then quiting after 3 days to return to H.P.D. :smt103
Reason given is that the pace wasn't fast enough for him.
