Jerry Goldin was a teenager in Brooklyn, N.Y., doing his homework in his room when he heard about the attack on Pearl Harbor. Sally Henson was living in a trailer park near the Ford Motor Co.'s Willow Run plant in Detroit where her husband was helping build B-24 bombers.
