If you have time, this is a look at scientology in Los Angeles.

That was kind of odd... reminded me of some encounters I've had with religious whack-jobs of other persuasions...

Reminds me of going to the Liberty Bowl in 2003 and being on Beale Street that night and religious freaks holding signs and yelling that we were dogs wallowing in sin going to hell for drinking. Yes, that is really going to win people over to Christianity and make them want to start going to church. Their signs were about abortion and all. Like what does New Year's Eve on Beale St. have to do with abortion?

The other day in Selma, there was this group of people standing outside of a church with signs that said "Repent Whores!" and such. Had a microphone and everything, screaming at the cars that went by. It was odd.

I need to get out more, I never see people like this. Maybe we could start a "religious fanatic" email alert list or something?

It was weird. I was in the car in the turn lane, away from them, although I was mightily tempted to make a block and come back around, saying I was ready to repent. Just because.

I'd be tempted to come back around with a super soaker yelling cool it.

Just be thankful they weren't Muslim radicals. You'd be headless now. Talk about motivation to "sign up." :smt118

Do you need a special degree to do that? 'Cause that sounds like how I want to spend my weekends. Oh the camaraderie of it all.

Just remember, the apostles were all street preachers once, and were (all but John) put to death for their fanaticism. Not that I'm into some of the weirdness we see out there, but it doesn't hurt to remember our own beginnings.

oh my- I hadn't forgotten about that. I remember for a split second seeing the signs and thinking "since I'm a Christian, should I feel guilty for drinking?.... nah, I need another one". And you're about tactics like those... it does nothing to help their cause.
That video is just crazy. I especially got a kick out of the little short guy. I think they all need therapy.
