BTW if anyone has any good suggestions on subdivisions please let me know. We have only found 1 as big as we want, Chapel Hill, I think was the name... so we are desperately looking!

don't suggest anything neill home wise....my girlfriends mother is in the process of sueing the heck out of them.....they build shoddy houses and the wiring is sub-par.......they had a light fixture wired backwards in the kitchen and almost caught her whole house on fire.....
not just that, but over on huntington place he didn't bother paving the roads after 5 years.....they had to sue him to get that paved.....
oh, and at where my MIL lives.....part of the agreement with the whole neighborhood was to have gates.....they all sued to get them put up and then had to sue again to get them to work........

Oh really? They seemed to have a lot of construction going on, but we only talked to the sales people...seemed like a nice place

Be aware that there is no code enforcement in Lamar County. If you buy a house, get the heck inspected out of it first, go over it with a fine toothed comb.

There are alot of nice houses in the Petal area (and they have excellent schools to boot) also around Dixie (s. of Hburg) is also nice...kindda country like still, alot of nice houses though...just don't buy in the city...

Hattiesburg is not that bad a place to live. A lot of people on this board gripe about because it's our home. I live in the 'burg, am a product of city schools, have never been robbed, raped, or murdered. It all comes down to location, location, location. South and west Hattiesburg are nice, quiet areas to live.
