With all the complaints this board alone has against Wal-Mart, let alone the rest of the nation ... I thought this might be a good site to post.

My mother in law works for wal-mart and says that it's going to hell in a hand basket ... fast. Multiple law suits ... shotty customer service at best ... well, you all know the rest ...

all public companies go through certain stages:
1. Growth - Massive growth lots of new stores. Revenues are always growing because additional stores mean additional revenues. Usually run by the founder, things are good, money is flying.
2. Stagnate - Once a company has grown to the point to where it can not sustain growth (#1) it becomes stagnate. i.e. adding 10 stores to a 10,000 company is only .1% growth whereas if your add 10 to a 100 store company..thats 10%
3. Service - The crappiest of all companies. The founder is no longer there, growing externally won't grow it anymore. So, they hire a beancounter. Once the beancounters get ahold of it....Salaries go down, Vacation no more, internal praise no more, grind the suppliers, anything to continue the growth...which eventually becomes mathmatically impossible.
4. Bankrupt - Fold, close the doors, jettison all the retirement pensions, etc and reorganize..the start over at #1.
