Lord man. Can you not read? It says in the article WHY he left. Read the last couple of lines. Don't even try and make this something it's not.

I hate that. I have not heard one bad thing about him, and you always hear bad things about coaches. Top notch guy.

Petal's Football Banquet was last night and I saw him afterwards and I heard no rumors about this.. The talk was he is the highest paid football coach in south mississippi.. Its going to be interesting on his replacement... I don't know all the assistants but I doubt any of them will be considered as a head coach..

Next season was gone, whether Coach Davis was there or not. Losing the best QB Petal has ever had, along with arguably the best athlete Petal has had, and the senior class alone was a lot for the team to overcome.

Which is exactly why people should stop kissing the feet of these coaches - such as Davis and Barr. They are good men and good coaches, but players on the field win the games. The best coach in the world can not make a player run faster than he is able, or hit harder than he can already. The hero worship is going too far in some cases. Also, the loyalty of the coaches only lasts as long as THEY want it to. (Not downing Coach Davis for having personal reasons for leaving, just saying that people who believe any coach will stay forever in same program is going to be disappointed.)

When WDAM said the teaser for this story, they didn't mention the coach or the school.

I just knew it was going to be an announcement that Nevil Barr had decided to take the Biloxi High job.

Whew... sigh of relief... for now. :)

Unless you're following Penn State, Florida State, or Southern Miss.

And I think all three of those coaches should have moved on - voluntarily or otherwise - by now.

Or the East Marion coach.

I believe he was one of, if not the most paid coach in the state. The only coach that Petal would hire from within would be Cory Reynolds, the OC, but word is alot of the players would quit. I look for them to go out-of-state like they did with Davis. If not out-of-state, then at least out of the Pine Belt. All of the good coaches in the Pine Belt aren't going to leave their schools, other than Barr, but I really don't think he will come back to Petal lol.
