We are moving to the Oak Grove area (off King Rd) and I had a few questions...
Are there any grocery stores close by without having to go down 98 to go to Walmart etc?
Is there a Post office in Oak Grove? If not, where is the closest one?
Thanks!

There's a Corner Market being built close to Canebrake. I wouldn't imagine it would be much longer before it is opened. As to your other questions, don't know but I'm sure someone else here will.
Welcome, by the way! :)

welcome to the forums! there is a corner market down on the left on old hwy 11. all you have to do is cross over 98 and your there. there is no post office in oak grove.....closest to you would be on 40th ave.
There is a mailing center in the same shopping center as the Corner Market. You can mail all of your FedEx, UPS and USPS stuff right from there. They will also package and stamp whatever you need.

I used to use them all the time when I worked over there. They will take your mail too, they just drive it over to the post office around 4:30.

We use that place all the time. Mostly because it's convenient, but partly because my neighbor owns it. :) (Not that that's really here nor there...)

Welcome.
Pak Mail is at the intersection of King Road old Highway 11 and Highway 98 ... kind of behind Sonic. They can handle all of your mailing and shipping needs.
The Corner Market a bit further down Old Highway 11 (mentioned in an earlier post) is quite good and a nice diversion from Wal Mart.

corner market and sunflower/IGA is owned by the roberts families. i think ramey's wanted to be in sumrall and lumberton, and i guess they weren't making the money they thought they should in OG......
i personally think that we still need a "chain" grocer......would bring those prices at the corner market down.....
i just can't bring myself to spend 2.98 on something that costs 1.98 at target, and michelle claims they are .98 at walmart......
my philosophy is if it's not at target, then i don't need it.

It would be nice if our Target was a Greatland store. I've been to them in Missouri and it's like a Target with a grocery store - similar to the Wal-Mart Supercenters, but with the nicer look and feel of a Target store.

If we include the one in Petal (and we certainly want to include our Petal brothers and sisters) there are three Corner Markets now and one with construction pending.
Personally, I like the convenience and the interesting selection of products.

Only ones I know about in Hattiesburg are the Sunflowers. Do they seem dirty or junky to anybody but me?
