Hello Everyone! I have lived here since 1997 and I love Hattiesburg. I came to this site to read about the political part of Hattiesburg and found myself coming back more and more. So I have become a member. Some of you may not agree with me most of the time, but I promise not to be an open rant at anyone. We all have our views and that is what make our US of A so Great. We can vote our view and have fun debating them as well.
I have two kids and I am a single mom making it in our society, by choice and proud of it. I finished school at USM and love the Saints. I have roots here and no plans to change that. I agree with the Mayor on different things and agree with the counsel on different things. I believe that we just need to work on different fronts to make this city work at its best. Do I think that race plays a role in different decisions with our local government? Yes, it does and that is just a simple fact of living in the south and we must get past that. I can remember being a small child and have the KKK march in my small town and that was in the early 90’s. It is still here but we must see past it, not use it as an excuse when we don’t get our way and be the bigger person.
Well, that is me like it or not and I hope to enjoy my time on Myhattiesburg. Plus you do get the news out faster than that WDAM or Hattiesburg American. Thanks Martha
