The Girlfriend's car is in the shop so I had to take her to work this morning.
I drove over some roads I usually don't frequent and was shocked & enraged by the condition of some of them.
Near the intersection of Hardy & Hutchinson there is a hole maybe a foot deep & crumbled pavement for yards that has traffic there nearly down to three lanes.
Also, there is crumbled pave ment all through the avenues. I thought the down town area was bad.
We know the Mayor & Council read this site.
How about a little patching guys? I've had to have my car aligned twice in three months.

How about MHers posting when & where they see severe road damage?
Get an idea of how bad the streets really are.

The state of Hattiesburg's infrastructure is laughable. I'm from Mobile, Alabama which by all means does not have the greatest infrastructure in the world, but whenever I moved here I was shocked at how bad of shape it was here in Hattiesburg. I'm constantly getting brown water from the faucet, dodging pot holes on terrible roads, and disgusted by the litter due to an archaic trash collection system. None of these existing issues have been addressed since I've moved here and now we are seeing an increase in crime to boot! Does the mayor actually do anything here in Hattiesburg?

There is a pothole on Westover drive right past Westover Apartments that I constantly have to dodge.

It's my understanding that if you notify the transportation dept. they have a certain amount of time to fix it before you can send them the alignment bills.

Bad one on 37th, just south of Corner Market. I heard Mr. Sellers say that they are supposed to get some money for street repair, because the streets are torn up as a result of debris removal, heavy equipment, etc.

Well, the city actually FIXED the pothole(s) at 29th and Hardy last week. They had a crew that dug out the holes and filled them back in properly instead of just throwing some asphalt in a wet hole.

I think well be seeing a lot more road repair with election season coming in a few years...
