I need travel tips for Biloxi

I have a friend coming to visit in Feb and she likes to play the slots. I thought we would go to the coast for a day or two. I have never been there myself so I need some ideas on where we might stay and anything that is a must see.

I've heard the Island View Hotel and Casino has some good weekly rates since they just opened. I personally haven't checked it out yet. Here's their site. (http://www.islandviewcasino.com/)

A review in a recent Sun Herald cited the rooms at the Island View as the nicest, with very plush down bedding and plasma televisions.

I have eaten at the new Island View buffet and it is excellent. Jumbo boiled shrimp as big as lobsters (almost) is the "signature" item on the buffet.

The Island View's casino is a temporary setup, but there are a number of slots. I had a bit of luck there. :)

The Beau Rivage has lots of slots and has opened several new fine dining restaurants.

The Coast has a number of Mardi Gras parades in February. These attract locals and visitors alike, and while smaller than the New Orleans parades, people have a lot of fun.

I stayed a night at the Island View last week and the room is by far among the nicest on the coast (especially for the money ~$70/night). If you stay at Island View, try dinner at Vrazels (http://www.vrazels.com/)...one of the better restaurants on the coast. The Beau Rivage is also very nice and at times can have pretty reasonable room rates. It also has several very good restaurants, a nice coffee shop and several stores and gift shops.

i've heard that the rooms @ island view are the best, but the luck sucks. lots of people are saying to stay at island view, play at IP
