It is beautiful and you can find more information about the Trace at their website (http://www.longleaftrace.org/).

I love the Longleaf Trace, that amenity was a key selling point in my decision to move to Hattiesburg. . I'll be on it every week whenever the weather warms up.
MrBama maybe I could meet up with you when you start riding again just to introduce me to the ins and outs of the trail.

We are in the process of getting our bikes ready for a good warm day...we need to exercise and because of my back and knee problems since the car wreck I was in, I can't walk much or stand...the doc says the bike would probably do both problems good and not only limber up both the back and knee but also help with burning calories and be a good cardio workout. COME ON SPRING!
Just let me know when you want to go and I'm there. Thanks

I don't have a bike, I jog on the trail. I plan on purchasing one in the near future.

I want a Bike! I want to be able to ride the trail! I have always wanted to, but dont want to spend $400 on a bike... anybody know of a good place to look for a bike a little less expensive???
Some bike shops take trade-ins when people upgrade, you might want to check that. And you wouldn't believe the people that buy them, ride them twice and then they sit in a garage. put an add in the paper. When you get one let me know I love to ride with people. I rode with 2 girls in Virginia and I miss it so much.

I ride. :-D
And I paid about $250 or so for my bike at Hattiesburg Cycles. Drew was extremely helpful.

We use to ride the trail some. I'd love to ride when it warms up, but our bikes were stolen. I plan on getting a new one from Moore's. I test rode one about two years ago there, and it was a great bike. I was going to get it but then found out we were pregnant and money went elsewhere. Now we are finally getting to a point where we can purchase or at least think about purchasing a bike.

This would be great! I love riding the trail! We could do a MH bike day with a picnic at one of the stops as soon as the weather cooperates. Those who don't do the biking thing could meet at the destination stop and could be in charge of the picnic preparations!

We'll start out short distance - then gradually do longer stretches. That's the great thing about the trail, the put-ins all along the way. I've done a lot of the northern end with my cubscouts. All of it has been really beautiful.

Ahhh...don't tempt me. But I've got to do some clean-up around outside while I have the chance today. Come on, Spring! I'm soooo ready for it!!
Any one want to ride the trail today. I'm going to start out at the Jackson Station about 3:00. PM me if you want to meet up. I do have a tire pump for those tires that have been sitting for a while.

wish i had a bike...
wish i had a bike...
OH, i wish i had a bike....
:)
Since I didn't have any takers I went early and did 6.5 miles. That was the 1st time I have been on my bike since September. IT FELT GREAT!!!! I bet it won't tomorrow though. I bundled up really good because it was quite chilly and I normally don't like to ride when it's cold but I just had the urge. I think tomorrow is supposed to be warmer so I'll hit it again. I'll probably go around 1:00 if any one is interested.
