Get yourself a decent quarterback and then we'll talk. I have no problem with the Bears. Its just their trash-talking fans that get on my nerves.

I didn't talk any trash. In fact, I'd say that more saints fans were trash talking, or 'destiny' talking than anything else this season.

This is one of the weakest years ever in the NFC as far as talent. If this year is any indication of next with some free agency help the once Mighty Brett Farve could do as Elway, leave as a Champion!I wish this for one of the Gritist players ever.If you really compare teams with great QB's farve is the Best Qb to ever play the game. He's played with less in the worst weather in the smallest market in pro sports and has become known for his clutch performances and the Heart of a fearless Lion.GO BRETT 4 one more year.

What up with some of the "Favre Haters" on here? I love to watch Favre play. Not just because he is a homeboy, but because he's still one of the most exciting players in the league. The NFL is such a cookie-cutter league in terms of QB's. Peyton, Tom Brady, Brees, and company are all good QB's, but are they really that fun to watch? Things are never boring when #4 is on the field. Glad he's staying. Brett Favre and the Saints great run are the only reasons I watched NFL games this season. I hope the Packers will make a run next year, much like the Broncos did in Elway's twilight years!

Favre's ego will not allow him to recognize that he's hurting the team. When you have a running back that's second in the league in rushing, you shouldn't throw 21 interceptions. When your running back shreds a defense for 156 yards on 25 carries, you shouldn't throw the ball up for grabs in overtime. When your running back is averaging 4 yards a carry, you shouldn't have 6 and 4 interception games. Apparently, the problem is not a weak supporting cast for Favre, it's a weak ego that refuses to let others make plays. It's an ego that says `if I can't be the hero, if I can't make the play, I'd rather lose'. It's an ego that will pass everything except the torch. That's a shame. When great quarterbacks get great running games, they're supposed to perform better. Steve Young had possibly his best year, late in his career, when Garrison Hearst rushed for over 1,500 yards. John Elway had some of his best years when he had perennial 1,500 yard running back, the last three years of his career.

I'll be the first to admit that Brett does some stupid s*&t, but that "ego" has won a Super Bowl and three league MVP trophies... Again, that ego and those mistakes make him fun to watch...The NFL is cut throat enough that, if the Packers thought Favre was hurting the team, his ass wouldn't be on the field. (See Joe Montana's last years with the Chiefs). I think the Packer's front office may have a bit more insight than some slapdick sports writer.

I found another goodie.

Why Brett Favre is Overrated

Brett Favre is the most overrated football player of all time. Everytime I see him playing the commentators go on and on about how good he is. Then he throws an interception six plays later and they all blame it on the receiver running the wrong route. I'm sorry you stupid commentators but Brett Favre is no Peyton Manning, or Donovan McNabb, or even a Chad Pennington

http://students.uat.edu/aleandre/favrehurt.jpg

Brett Favre is also a lucky bastard. He holds the record for quarterbacks for consecutive games played. In other words, he has never been injured enough to go out of a game. Although, the above picture shows the one time he got hurt enough to miss a game. But he got crazy lucky and the Packers had a bye that a week so he didn't miss any games!! Damn he is so lucky.

The funny thing is, the first time he gets hurt, he cries! As you can see he is covering his face hiding his tears. Oh and if you know football well, Brett Favre's stats shown here (http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1028) on nfl.com will also explain why Brett Favre is nothing real special.

You need to go back to school and, at least, learn how to identify a credible source. Just because some jackass on some blog or message board says, "Favre sucks", you think it is true?

Football isn't all about numbers. Numbers are for fantasy football players. Again, if he couldn't help the Packers, they would find a way to get rid of him. You don't stay around the NFL for as long as Brett has just because you are a good guy and people like you.

Not to sound biased or intolerant of others' opinions, but anybody who thinks Brett Favre is not a good player doesn't know football and is a f*&%ing idiot!

A few things, then I'm finished with this discussion:

1) Posting an anonymous article which bashes a guy who has represented our city and state in such a positive manner for so long is not what I would categorize as "joking" around with the guys.

2) When calling you a f...... idiot, I wasn't trying to provoke a fight. I was just stating the obvious!

3) That fact that you would "call out" someone you don't even know, leads me to believe that you've never been in a fight and, therefore, never had your ass whipped. So, that just adds to the list of things you don't know s&*^ about!

How big a boy are ya?

When I lived in Hattiesburg, I never could understand the complete hatred some people have for this man. I mean, he could have found the cure to cancer and people still would have hated him! I guess I will never understand that.

Sure I heard the stories of what he was like in college....that he was this moron college kid who drank, partied, etc. I heard about some of the crazy things he did back then. (What college kid hasn't done anything crazy....) But really, what does that have to do with how well of an athlete he is? Like him or not, what he has accomplished is phenominal. The things he has been through (bad car accident in college, wife being diagnosed with cancer, the pain of losing his dad, his best friend) make him more human than any other athlete I know.

Sure, the man cries. After all he has been through, who wouldn't. I think that shows that he has heart. And you down the man because he hasn't had a major injury? That makes no sense to me. Thank goodness he hasn't had a major injury. He has been fascinating to watch over all these years and I would hate that an injury would have ruined that for me.

I have mentioned this on MH before, but I have personally met Favre and his family. I have written articles about them and spent time in their home and with them in Green Bay. They are truly first class people. I don't expect you to believe me, but that's OK.

Brett Favre is one of the best to EVER play the game. Everyone should consider themselves lucky that we have at least one more year to watch him.

Tried my dang-dest to stay out of the fray, but I cannot. A couple of things "BEG" saying here.

Firstly, anyone who does not think Brett Favre is one of the all-time great football players does NOT know much about football. Also, anyone who thinks Brett is not a good human being does NOT know Brett. I have some "cred" here - believe it.

Secondly, I love the information and exchange on here but it is unsettling to me (and I think to others, obviously to Eric Stratton!) that a few folks consistently speak things as "truth" and then don't want ANY of the rest of us to have a conflicting opinion. Many of the same folks want to feel free to express themselves in THEIR style - whether sarcastic, sardonic, intellectually pretentous name and fact dropping, or whatever - but do not tolerate and seem "aghast" when others express themselves in THEIR style! I've watched Eric Stratton be criticized for his "direct-ness" at times. I've taken a lot of pseudo-intellectual bullshit about "writing like Augustus McRae might talk" and for my own style.

Some folks experience life and get wiser, stronger, more embracing - others cannot see past the end of their nose and don't. DAMN, guys, don't talk to me about "not being able to see body language" and all that horseshit - try being honest with yourself for goodness sake. It will 'free' you from a lot of that "I got to be right" baggage some of us seem to be carrying around.

And for the couple of you who said, "...I've never been in a fight..." How freakin' sad - you'd learn something about yourself!

Although many of you have chosen to live your life by the rules and procedures of MyHattiesburg, I, for one, could give a rat's ass about getting a "negative rep". I'm gonna write what I want to write. I enjoy this site, but, sometimes, the blatant biased towards those who don't "fit the mold" cast by the "lords of MH" is absolutely silly!

On this site, I choose to write like I talk. And, yes, sometimes when I talk, I drop an F-bomb on somebody. And, when somebody like your boy Big John is spouting uncredible non-sense like he was in regards to Brett Favre, I will label them with appropriate terms like "idiot" or "jackass" or "assclown" or "dumbass" or whatever fits the occasion.

Big John is upset because, in expressing my opinion of he and his post, I used the term "F*&^ing idiot". However, I don't see why John gets to express his opinion about Brett Favre being a suck ass QB, and I'm not allowed to retort in a manner I deem fit.

Again, someone or some group of people on here have set some unwritten rules to which I am expected to bow down, and that ain't gonna happen!

Sorry I'm a little late with my reply, but I can't tell you how happy the state of Wisconsin is that Bretts back! I only wish, the Giants would've lost 'cause they had a real chance. A true and great QB can take a young team with not very many household names come together and play well. Brett is no Peyton M., or Donavan M., no he's much greater than them. I'd like to see how great Peyton would be, put in some of the positions Brett has been put in. He IS and ALWAYS will be the greatest of all time, it's not luck it's called TALENT! GO PACK GO!
