Well, I thought it was touching and sweet. I like the old man that drank the coke and took off on a motorcycle. Gave some his energy.

Yes, from what I understand, the sponsors go "all out" on the commercials, sometimes paying extremely high amounts to be able to air during the superbowl. It's just a money game in marketing. Personally because I see a coke or chevrolet commercial doesn't make me want to go out and purchase that just for the commercial but that's me.

No doubt. I like that it isn't a progressive type story. I can't tell you how much I hated the bud bowl!
OMG- Short Stuff is on. I love the dude in the white knee things & the tamborine! Or is that an UGLY lady?

Where are the Budwiser Clydesdales?
Prince and his "dancers" scared them off. I'm still waiting on Prince to go up in a ball of flame since he's got that guitar in the rain. Might improve his hair-do

I love Prince too. I grew up listening to him. My daughter was in awe, could not believe I listened to him. When he did Purple Rain she said did you like that song? I said heck yes I did! Oh the memories...

My eight year old was bashing the heck out of Prince and telling us to "change it"...lol. I was just waiting to him to bust into "1999" -- since the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake fiasco a couple of years ago, it seems the Super Bowl has been bent of bringing out "washed up has beens" for the halftime show.

I found the commercials extremely lacking this year. But, if I had to chose, I liked the rock, paper Bud Lite commercial. It was really funny. :)

This year's bunch lacked the zing of previous crops but several did bring a smile to my face............the Toyota commercials (driving through closing gate & stopping before the canyon ; pulling up the ramp and balancing before zooming down the other side) had to be computer generated - pretty flashy but far-fetched. I probably laughed the loudest at the 'clicking the mouse' & 'rock-paper' spots.................

That snickers commercial was funny as hell. I think I laughed loudest at that one. You knew what was going to happen, and then it happened... so funny!!!
The robot one was okay, but I found it a bit dark... the robot commits suicide. I cared about the robot, then he jumped... you know he couldn't swim... poor robot...
I really hate bud light as a product, so it's hard to get into the nostalgia commercials. However, I liked the one with the auctioneer as the wedding preacher. that one was classic.
There was way too much noise going on to see any of the fed ex commercials, but I'll probably go and watch those in a second or two at that site linked above.

I didn't really like any of the commercials that I saw this year. It seemed like there were a lot of generic commercials where people were just trying to throw their name out there instead of trying to make a name for themselves.

i didn't really watch the game or the commercials. it was on in the background. i think i saw one segment of commercials -
the truck one 0 - 70 then stopping before the cliff.
the snickers one where they kissed then did something manly.
the singing one (i think that was last night) about chevy that started with MJB.
wasn't too impressed though.

I was wondering when someone was going to mention that. That was kind of weird to me that they would let him do that after the Janet Jackson thing.

the guitar was actually shaped like 'his symbol' when he didn't have a name ..... but it sure came across differently when projected onto the large cloth behind him!! we almost fell off the couch :) had to cove our mouths to keep from rotflol.......... the kids - hers & mine - all looked at us like we were crazy !!!
hey, but he put on a heck of a show - IN THE PURPLE RAIN - kudos to CBS for keeping the camera lens dry.....
which college band was backing him up with all the gyrations? would have enjoyed seeing more of them........ just too much going on all at once.

I think the robot was dreaming! He woke up on the factory floor, so nobody has to get upset over the suicide of a ... fictional..... robot(!)
My fave was the blockbuster mouse. "Try dragging it!"
"Federline! FRIES!!" was good, too.

Auto workers that have been layed off in the past few years are actually furious at these commercials. I can understand where they are coming from. It's a slap in the face to the blue collar worker that are losing jobs to robots.

I liked the Blockbuster one the best, too. Especially at the end when they figure out the problem has been that the mouse wasn't plugged in. :)
All the car commercials stunk, including (especially) the local ones up here.
