Well, i pay to get a weekly email newsletter and for the past month I have not been getting it - comcast has decided to block the sender.
So, OK, people makle mistakes. When you do you fix them and move on... but not Comcast!!
Take a look at http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=t&ie=UTF-8&rls=GWYA,GWYA:2005-47,GWYA:en&q=comcast+blacklist
It turns out Comcast can't fix the problem for the user. Its people don't know how to fix it, who to reach to fix it, they do not return calls or emails, and only the light of publicity seems to get them off their butts and removing legit email sources from their secret blacklist.
How about it, HA, any interest?
Anyone else having this problem? I've got email and snail mail addresses now for the president of comcast.

I thought comcast didn't block anything. I'm on comcast and I have never had as much spam on any other internet provider. I get at least 10 pieces of spam a day. I'm constantly update my mail rules within my email client

we are on comcast and don't have any issues with our mail ... we have our company's email and both of our personal emails through comcast ... now ... don't get me wrong ... we have issues with comcast, that the office and the techs can't seem to fix ... like their server going down every other day or so ... *that's* ruffling my feathers a bit. But we don't get spammed or any other unwanted emails ...

There are blacklists on almost any ISP or web site provider. This site is blocked by AOL. It's very easy to get blocked, and a newsletter would do it. All it takes is a few people indicating to Comcast that the newsletter is spam (instead of just unsubcribing) and they blacklist the address. I'm sure Comcast can fix it, but the local office won't know anything about how to do it. You'll have to get in contact with the internet division at the national office to tell them you need an address unblocked.

Well, it's not so much that they blocked them by mistake -it's that all avenues seem to lead to dead ends.
And, this is a paid, subscription newsletter - rather unlikely anyone would report it as spam since they paid $$ to get it.
I don't have a problem with them mistakenly putting someone on the blacklist. My problem is that after a month of effort there appears to be no way to get off the blacklist.

If I were paying, I'd sign up for GMail (http://www.gmail.com/) immediately and switch the address to prevent this from happening again. I've heard of people getting off the AOL blacklist, but I don't know about Comcast.

never...ever keep all your internet eggs in one basket
in other words...just use your ISP for access...dont fool with their stupid homepage where they try to shove ads down your throat...dont fool with their mail...dont fool with their retarded newsgroups
i have comcast and they should learn to stick to their core...which is pure access...the rest of their stuff is complete crap
get a gmail account...set your gmail account to pick grab all your comcast email from your pop3 settings and start Re: from your gmail account and make sure you send out a spam from your new and old email saying 'hey guys this is my new address'
youll be much happier...i promise
that being said...im sure that 'legitimate' mortgage company has a few legitimate mails going out to customers...but they probably got on a number of blacklists for doing the same thing every other mortgage company does...which is spam the ever living hell out of anybody with a pulse
