Like who? I thought it was a pretty good group, considering the shallow pool they had to choose from.

Where are the kids from Wayne Co. They've got the #2 alltime yardage holder in MS history at QB and two WR's who could play D1 if they had the grades. What about Farris or Agee at QB? Where's Duncan?
The Green kid from Kemper and the Chambers kid from Coffeeville are out with injuries. How about Diggs from South Panola or White from Simmons? Neither of the two QBs are even in the top 5 QBs in MS.
This won't be one of the better coached teams either....sheesh!

I'm sorry. I've read this post a couple of times. Again, where is it you coach?

Not a coach. Let's just say I've got a "vested interest".

Ahhhhh...you're boy did not make it, did he? Long time coach and long time parent here, buddy ro - been on both ends. Let me tell you something - it turns out okay in the end - trust me!

The two QB's in the game were far better than Farris, although Farris is very good. I can only speculate that Drexler Johnson's injury kept him out of the hunt.

Duncan is not any better than any of those WR's, neither are the guys from Wayne Co. Though they are all very good players.

I disagree with you on the coaching. Les Peters has won more games than most coaches can imagine. Stan McCain has turned an awful program into one that competes on a yearly basis (much like OG). Perry and Peterson are two of the best young coaches in the state, and will be among the Hall's and Justice's of the state in the next 10 years.

We can agree to disagree on this one. I stand by my opinion of the team and the HC. I can say with a pretty strong degree of confidence that I see as many HS games and player films as anybody. I will agree that Peterson is a heck of a good coach.

Ask Coach Peters what you hit a fly with. You don't hit it with a flyswatter.

Well, we can agree to disagree on this, too. Let's just say a large portion of my livelihood depends on watching these films.

That's what I thought. Just wondering for who.
At least you're getting paid for it.

I just help out a guy with some filming and review stuff. Just spare time for me though.

Talent in the state was down this year overall. I believe there were between 15 and 20 less D1 signees this year from a year ago.

Yes, it was. But, next your should be a very good year for the state. At least down South it will be. Very heavy junior classes this season.

True, HHS has some good talent in that class as does Petal. Your alma matar Oak Grove could have as many d1's next year as the whole Barr era combined. Also the coast is heavy in talent in its jr classes.

The next two years are going to be strong. There are very few Big Uglies this time. Ton of skill guys.

Hey ES, I got the low down on the reason a few kids aren't on the AS team. Injuries and grades. Some aren't even going to graduate. Got to graduate to play.

Yeah. This is embarrassing for the state of MS. Let me tell you...it ain't hard to graduate from high school! That's just sorry.
