Lips, I believe that although your granddad can't communicate with you nor may not seem to know who you are or that you are even there, I truely believe that he WILL know within his heart. He will be able to feel your love in his heart and soul and can hear your voice...May the Good Lord bless you and your family and guide each of you throughout the ordeal. Love and prayers going your way. You are extremely luck to have known your granddad, both of mine were gone before I was born. I did however have a couple of surrogate granddads and I know they loved me as they did their own grandchildren. The Lord is good in that way.:bhug:

Lips, he'll know that you are there... you might not know that he knows, but he will know... His spirit will there holding your hand and soothing your soul...

Fuzzis, my thoughts and prayers are with you all...

Sunshine, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family also

... and everyone else in need... The Lord loves and watches over us all and is always there for us and hears and answers all of our prayers...

May each of you have peace and comfort in knowing that our Savior loves us and knows what is best and knows that we will all be together again someday with our loved ones who have passed on or who will pass on and that until that sweet and blessed reunion comes, they are all watching over us from heaven... And I believe that sometimes, when we are very still and listening that we can hear them and feel their presence...

Y'all please pray for DamnYank. He won't ask but I will. He is having surgery on Monday and he and his family needs our prayers for them. He will be at Forrest General very early in the a.m. Monday. We didn't discuss it thoroughly but I think it is like a man thang-not prostrate but something like that. Please keep them in your prayers also. He is a good one of us and I always enjoy his post as most do so prayers for them please.
Done. And thanks for letting us know.

I hesitate to post this here because I don't believe and I don't pray. I do, though, believe that the universe senses our intentions and works to manifest them in our lives. Those that I'm asking your consideration for do believe. That said...

Please pray or think good thoughts or send good vibes out there into the world or whatever for my best friend's mother-in-law Meta, their family, and for my best friend Shan. Meta was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago. Everything was fine until March of this year when they learned that the cancer was back and had spread to her bones. Her oncologist says it's one of the most aggressive cancers he's ever seen.

The prognosis on Sunday was that the best case scenario would be the end of the summer...if Meta could resume chemo. She cannot. She will hopefully be released from the hospital today and is going home to hospice.

This is terribly painful to Shan. When we were 18, her mother (and the woman I credit with saving my life) succumbed to metastatic breast cancer...the same thing that is killing Meta. Shan is losing her mother...again. Her faith is strong, but she is shaken and very angry. It's extremely difficult to watch her go through this...again...because she is the closest thing in this world that I have to a sister. Once almost killed her, and I'm very worried for her in the coming weeks.

I hope for peace and comfort and respite for them all. If you could do the same, I'd be grateful.
Done. I added you to the prayer too, Fuzzis. Hope you don't mind. So when the Lord knocks on YOUR door, I hope you answer. :smt023

An update: My grandfather is in the hospital. He is on a feeding tube, and has little time left with us. He doesn't speak, but I've had some special moments with him the past 2 days. I don't know that he knows who I am in his mind, but I know he does in his heart- I can see it in his eyes. Please pray that his passing will be peaceful and painless. I dread what's coming, but I don't want him to suffer...

Thank ya'll very much for your prayers. I had my surgery this morning, spent the day in the hospital "managaing pain" - that never developed and returned home around 6 PM. :smt023 I had Mrs DY, my daughter and our oldest granddaughter with me for the day - that was comforting also.

Everything went as planned and the "no pain" was an added bonus - however I was told I'll have a tear or two in my eye the first couple times I po-po! :kekeke::kekeke:

Don't worry...this request isn't for me, so none of you risk being struck by lightning....

My wife and I are in Gainesville, FL....tonight....she is here for what has become a routine doctor's appointment.....12 years ago my wife had cancer...I can't remember the name of the cancer but it was a rare deal where she had a tumor in her humerus(sp?) (that's the upper-arm bone for those of you who live in campers).....anyway, she had an experimental (at least it was experimental back then) surgery in which her humerus was replaced with a titanium rod, a cadavar's rotator cuff and a whole tool box fool of screws and plates.....she did have to go for a check-up once a year, but now it is only once every two years.....so tomorrow is the two year check up....

There has never been any sign of the cancer coming back or any sign of damage to or from the procedure itself.....and all prior check-ups have gone very well....however, this is always a tense and stressful time for my wife even though the chance of bad news is very slim....

Please keep her in your prayers tomorrow....the appt. is at 2:30 (1:30 h'burg time)....also keep us in your prayers as we drive from here to Miami and then Miami to Key West on Tuesday....also pray for Key West and that I don't drink all of its beer and inflict irreversible damage to the island or key or whatever it is....

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high.
Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, oh leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.

right now I'm scared to death, and I would really appreciate your prayers. Last friday the kids and i were in a wreck, and I'm not sure if that's what brought this on or just brought it up so that it was finally found. saturday night i around midnight i woke up to a rapid heart rate, chest pains, nausea, and shivering. thinking i was too young to have a heart attack, i waited about 45 minutes before calling 911. finally, i called them and when they arrived, my heart rate was still 137, irregular and when they tried to get an IV in my veins would blow. I did NOT have a heart attack, thank GOD! the ER doctor tried telling me that the only reason a woman my age, 33, would have heart problems is either because of medication changes or because she was on drugs... had i been in the shape to do it, i would have told her what i really thought of her theory, however, i'm sure the test told her that i was not a druggie. witch! Anyway, i have experienced it again the past two nights. yesterday, my doctor put me on a beta-blocker, or whatever to prevent a heart attack and hopefully control my heart rate, along with asprin. he has also ordered me to reduce stress as much as possible, but jeez, who is able to do that?
At this point, i just don't know what to think. I just don't know what to think. I'm just putting it all in God's hands. I would ask that you all pray for me, not because of me, but because of my children. I can't imagine leaving them behind. They're all so young. Walter is ten, Casey 8, and little Abigail, my princess, is 3. They're so young and need me. I want to be around to see them have children, and hopefully grandchilden, God willing.
Family history isn't on my side, but I'm praying God is. My father died of heart disease at 56, his father at 50. The women in my family had better luck though. :/

when this happened to me in 2000, I thought it was my heart...evidently so did the ER staff in Page, AZ where we were at the time, they took me by helicoptor to Phoenix to Good Samaritan...after 3 days in the hospital, they did a heart cath only to tell me there was NOTHING wrong with my heart. I got a HUGE bill, but a clean bill of health. They never DID tell me what was wrong...but I believe now with all my heart it was my first and only anxiety attack. Hasn't happened since...and I don't want it too...felt Just Like a heart attack. I'm praying for you JoJo..

JoJo please go to a heart doctor. When you said "your doctor" I don't know if you meant a cardiologist or a gp. A gp told my cousin years back that she was having anxiety attacks when in fact she had damaged a heart vessel in an accident. They did catch it in time and she is fine now. You can't be too careful especially when you have little ones to be around for. If you need help let me know and you are in my prayers.

Dr. Jerry is sending me to a cardiologist. He's already put me on asprin and a beta-blocker for the time being though, propranolol (generic name). I had been having really bad headaches the past few weeks. I don't know if all of this is connected, or not. I just know that going from one room to another gets me short of breath and really weak afterward. I feel like I'm 90 years old. My mind is scattered and my thinking isn't quite right. I talked to a dear friend of mine earlier and can't keep on track. I just wanna cry some times. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I'm just frustrated!

JoJo, I am praying for you...please continue to see a doctor for your peace of mind. After I was in a bad car wreck in 2002, the docs couldn't find anything wrong with me either...I kept hurting worse and worse..I thought I would loose my mind. I got to where I could hardly walk on my left leg. My family doc finally did alot more test and found I had several disc that were messed up as well as my left knee. He sent me to Dr. Melancon who did surgery on my knee but they can't do anything about the disc at this time because of other problems I have. Dr. Melancon said eventually I would have to have a knee replacement. All this to say, I knew something was wrong whether they could find it or not. Don't give up and don't think you are spacing out...your body lets you know.

Got a request tonight from my daughter for her mother in law...she underwent that vascular procedure where you replace the vein in the leg with that of a donor...well, infection set in, so they went in again tonight to remove and repair. When they took her off ventilation, she couldn't breathe on her own. They put her back on, but it took awhile for her to be weaned off it. The anesthsia is wrecking havoc with her memory...sometimes she is in a different time span entirely and doesn't know recent family members (the grandson we have in common for one)...so please say a prayer not only for her...but for the family that is having to deal with the memory lapse'..it's very emotional for all concerned...thank you!

Also please continue to pray for my aunt's college roomate (thyroid cancer and her roomate's husband also has prostate cancer) ...she had surgery yesterday, but I haven't been able to find out how it went....thanks again!

That is the first thing I thought of when you began describing your symptons too. Please let us know what you are having to deal with. God be with you.

Just an update on an earlier prayer request for my wife....(I've been without internet access for several days)....everything went well with her check up....she'll probably need a shoulder replacement in the next 5-10 years but she's known that since day one.....

While I hate going to doctors and resist conventional medicine as much as I can, I must say that doctors like the one that did my wife's procedure 12 years ago are AMAZING and are truly agents of God....AMEN!

I am really glad ES...and thanks for sharing the good news.

My daughter's mother in law, that had the vascular surgery on her leg, has now developed a serious staff infection at the site. I sure would appreciate more prayer on her behalf...thank you!

I don't worry much about him untill I talked to him last night. Son said he loved India, now I'm sure it will be a repeat trip? He will do what he feels like he is being led. Thanks again he will be flying till friday late.

Surgery is over and Betsy is ready to go home. She seems to be more concerned about not being able to talk to her friends at MH than she is about the surgery. Can't figure out why they won't hook her up to a puter instead of an IV.
Doctor assures us that "everything went fine", and the really good news is that they will probably release her to go home tomorrow afternoon.:clap:
She said to be sure and thank everyone for their prayers and concern and cards and flowers .... and, she misses you all.
She is in room 3028.

Talked to my Aunt tonight about her college roommate with thyroid cancer...seems they think they got it all, however it is the more aggressive type than they originally thought...they will have to treat her more aggresively in response. She will undergo both radiation and chemo. Please pray that her faiith remains strong through this...my Aunt is having a hard time with the news, please include a prayer for her as well. Thank you so much.

Also, my son in law's mother was taken to FG last night with her heart, and she still has staff infection in her leg. Please continue to pray for her. Thank you again!

I thought there may be something on here about this, but I haven't seen it...so forgive me for re-posting if I do...

But, I got an e-mail from Gus earlier today about the status of Jason Weathers....Jason in the oldest son of DA Jon Mark Weathers and has had a long battle with luekemia.....he's evidently taken a turn for the worse here in the last few days and things aren't looking good....I don't know all of the details beyond that....I'm sure a lot of you LEO's know Jason's brother, Brad who worked for the LCSO the last I heard.....

Please keep Jason, his wife Stephanie, their children and the Weathers family in your prayers....Gus and Jon Mark have been good buddies since they were little fellas and their family has always been very good to mine.....
